Hit-and-Run America, Vol. XLVIX

An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously.

309. Silver Spring Twp., Pa. April 22. 57-year-old man struck and critically injured (including head injuries) by a white SUV which fled the scene.

310. Springfield, Mass. April 22. Police officer injured after being struck by a suspect whose identity is known. Minor injuries.

311. Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. April 22. 13-year-old boy critically injured after being struck by a 2001 Dodge van that backed-up, then fled and was later discovered empty, but police dogs were unable to track the driver down.

Here’s one about a lawyer trying to vouch for the character of a hit-and-run driver from Maine. As if someone who hits and runs has character.
