Ok, so this week’s pageant on Toddlers & Tiaras was Mardi Gras themed. That’s good. Teach young girls to embrace a celebration of bared tits.
Like six-year-old Amiya, for instance. Her mom Laura notes that the “cop outfit is probably what she’s most known for now.” This cop outfit:
Laura concedes that she’s been told that the cop outfit is inappropriate. She doesn’t concede that those people, who are right, are right. She justifies this by saying, “We don’t compete to lose.”
So, yeah.
Anyway, she’s not alone in her depravity. The bug-eyed pageant coordinator explains, “At Mardi Gras, it’s all about ‘Throw me some beads, Mister.” But at the Mardi Gras Madness Pageant, it’s gonna be all about ‘Throw me a crown.'” See, a logical distinction.
Oh, Tori was in town from Atlanta, Texas for the pageant. Her mom Ali dubbed anybody who doesn’t think Tori is a star “is ignorant.” This is the star, by the way:
Ali notes that ugly kids are the ones who wear expensive dresses, that’s her pet peeve. This is ironic when her dead-acne facial-skin base is taken into account. But I digress. This is what Ali said about Tori during the pageant:
You can feel the self-esteem growing through the screen.
I have never watched this show simply because the thought of it is so disturbing to me. Little girls should stay little girls and not be playboy models in waiting.
I remember a little girl when my son was growing up that lived in our neighborhood. She did modeling and always looked like a china doll to me. She wasn’t allowed to play normal kid things because her parents were afraid she would get hurt… ie.. get scratched, bruised and not be able to be photographed. I always felt so sorry for her because she always looked sad watching the other kids be KIDS.
I don’t have an issue with kids modeling only if it does not interfere with them growing up like normal kids should. Kids are supposed to get down in the ground and play in the mud.
