Andrew Gay, Jr: Worst Person on Earth, Vol. II

Remember that whole thing about how Nick Hasselback’s family couldn’t afford to get him out of jail on $500K bail, and how his greaser friends were scraping, I believe what the Hit-and-Run Prince lawyer described as, every cent together, and it still wasn’t enough? And how they’re oh-so-sorry about what happened to hit-and-run victim Tony Foltz?
Yeah, all that was total bullshit.
Hasselback made bail, probably by the time I got home to East Falls directly from his failed bail-reduction hearing.
Which means Andrew Gay, Jr. is even more of a fucking dirtbag than I thought he was just 18 hours ago.
ADA Lynne O’Brien takes a more professional approach in reacting to the news, though:

Regardless of the defendant making bail in this matter, he is required to appear in court, and that is where we will continue to seek justice for this victim. In order to protect others from being victimized by this defendant, the Commonwealth is filing a motion to amend the conditions of bail to revoke the defendant’s driver’s license and to restrict his ability to leave Philadelphia county.

As for me? Well, I’m debating taking an impartial-journalist’s walk down Midvale and cold-calling at Hasselback’s apartment to see whether he has any comment. My first question would be this: How do you feel about your representation finanically belittling the damage you’ve caused to an innocent person’s life? Chances are, he’d just run, though.
