14922. NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A 27-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash in North Hollywood, and police are seeking the public’s help finding the driver.
14923. A 67-year-old man was walking in the West Rogers Park neighborhood when he was struck by a man driving a black pickup truck. The driver of the pickup drove off after the striking the man, according to police. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he later died, Chicago police said.
14924. TRACY, Calif. — A person was hospitalized after a hit-and-run in Tracy Saturday evening. According to Tracy Police Department, the hit-and-run was reported not long after 8:30 p.m. along Grant Line Road. Police temporarily closed West Grant Line Road between Lincoln Boulevard and O’Hara Drive Saturday as they investigated the scene.
14925. HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A deadly crash that happened early Sunday in Houston’s Midtown area is now being investigated as a homicide by the Houston Police Department. Investigators said a man was trying to run down his partner when he hit and killed someone else.
14926. A man was discovered dead on Sunday morning in northwest Wichita after being hit by a vehicle that fled the scene, according to the Wichita Police Department.
14927. A search is underway for a driver who reportedly left the scene of a collision that killed a pedestrian in Phoenix early Saturday, according to abc15.com.
14928. LAFAYETTE, La. — The Lafayette Police Department is investigating an early Sunday morning hit-and-run involving a bicyclist on Louisiana Avenue.
14929. The Murfreesboro Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team has launched an investigation into a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian. Authorities said a woman was found on the road next to a curb near the 800 block of N. Thompson Lane around 6 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

14931. Preliminary investigations reveals that a 66 year old male, entered the southbound lanes of travel, when he was struck by an unknown, dark colored sedan. The unknown vehicle failed to stop at the scene and continued southbound on Lankford Highway. The 66 year old male, Peter L. Lancho of Greenbackville, Virginia, died upon impact.
14932. IMPD Patrol Sgt. John Arvin said a vehicle was driving on 28th Street at a high rate of speed when it lost control and struck a woman while she was standing outside of her vehicle talking to her friends. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
14933. Delaware State Police have identified the 62-year-old man killed in a hit-and-run crash early Friday morning near Dover. Troopers were called to Route 13, south of P.O.W./M.I.A. Parkway, just before 1:45 a.m. for reports of the crash. There, they found Michael Jose dead.

14935. Police are looking for a car believed to be involved in a hit-and-run that left a man critically injured in Waterbury over the weekend. Authorities said a pedestrian was struck on Cherry Street just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
14936. A U-Haul driver fatally plowed into a pedestrian near Queens College early Tuesday — before she and her female passenger reportedly fled barefoot from the scene, cops said.
14937. “He is such a sweet person,” said Arsiriy. “He was doing morning yoga, he was meditating, he was all about spreading peace and love. It was an act of kindness that turned his life into a nightmare.”
14938. A woman is dead after being struck by a car in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Tuesday night. Bladensburg police told WTOP it happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Bladensburg Road near Baltimore Avenue and the Peace Cross Memorial. The woman was taken to the hospital where she later died.
14939. The 14-year-old boy who was involved in a hit-and-run crash about two weeks ago in Escondido has died, according to police. A GoFundMe page set up for the victim identified him as Angel Ornelas. It stated he suffered brain trauma as a result of the collision and was admitted to the ICU.
14940. Police are seeking help from the public as they continue their search for the hit-and-run driver that killed a pedestrian in South Los Angeles on Friday.
14941. “I just talked to him, and he’s very very sore. He had a physical today and got some adjustments, and we’ll just see how he recovers down the road,” Genung said. Surveillance video shows the driver then backs up and takes off from the scene.“… He seemed from, like what I could see from the video, the car backed up, took a look at him and sped away. So it’s sad,” Genung said.
14942. “It’s inhumane just to leave somebody there. You never know. Like, maybe if you stop, maybe he’ll be here. What if that’s you?” Cox pondered, wondering if a different response from the driver could’ve saved Doyle’s life.
14943. A man was located in the roadway with major injuries from the collision, police said. He was taken to a hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Officers alleged that the vehicle that struck the pedestrian fled the scene on West Grant Line Road, leaving police without a definitive description of the suspect vehicle or driver.
