Hit-and-Run America, Vol. MMCXXI

An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously. 16724. GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Two of three traffic crashes that happened in Gainesville in the past 24 hours are hit-and-runs, and police officers are trying to track down the drivers who left the scene.

16725. SAN ANTONIO – A man is in critical condition after police say he may have been intentionally run over on the North Side.

16726. Police in Berkeley closed part of Adeline Street to investigate a hit-and-run collision that sent a man to the hospital Tuesday night.

16727. A 20-year-old killed in a weekend Birmingham hit-and-run was a Pinson Valley High School graduate “with a special light.”

16730. LAWRENCE, Indiana — Lawrence police officers are searching for a driver who hit and seriously injured a 20-year-old man over the weekend.

16731. A 43-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday night in the Ala Moana area, according to the Honolulu Police Department.

16732. Chicago police are asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in the South Chicago neighborhood.

16733. “Just do the right thing,” said Meija. “I have worked with the Department of Public Works for 15 years, not one time as a lifeguard have I let a kid drown. No one’s niece, uncle, daughters, or sons. I’ve never let a kid drown on my watch. So for you to leave a kid out there. Just do the right thing.”

16734. Boston police investigated a deadly hit-and-run Saturday morning. Police said a car struck a pedestrian around 1:10 a.m. at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard before fleeing the scene. The victim was rushed to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

16735. Police are looking for a motorist who fatally struck a pedestrian in Winnetka on Friday night.

16736. A 30-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle in a late-night hit-and-run crash in Makiki. The Honolulu Police Department said the fatal collision occurred at about 11:35 p.m. Thursday on Kewalo Street near Wilder Avenue.

16737. Minneapolis police are investigating a hit-and-run that left one man dead on Saturday morning.

16738. A child is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle that fled the scene April 10 in Middletown, according to Middletown police.

16739. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a pedestrian on Hilton Head Island.

16740. “I look to my left and then as I look back I see this car coming right at me,” said Morales. “Just the impact and I went launching over the car about 15 to 20 feet, landed on the ground and just excruciating pain,” he added.

16741. A woman left severely injured after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver two years ago in Miramar has died, according to her husband’s post on social media.

16742. One person was killed in a hit-and-run in Muscle Shoals. The crash happened at around 11:45 pm, April 12 on Sixth Street. Police are searching for the driver involved who fled the scene.
