5163. Atlanta, Ga. May 18. 30-year-old man fatally struck by a light-colored SUV which fled the scene.
5164-65. Campbellsville, Ky. May 19. Two pedestrians injured when struck by a vehicle which fled the scene; police searching for known suspect.
5166. Missoula, Mont. May 16. 52-year-old man injured when struck by a vehicle, possibly a Toyota, which fled the scene.
5167. San Diego, Cal. May 17. 62-year-old woman fatally struck by a silver- or pewter-colored 2005 or 2006 Nissan Altima which fled the scene.
5168. Ann Arbor, Mich. May 19. 35-year-old man fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

PAULSBORO – A twin brother and sister have been arrested and charged in the hit-and-run death of 30-year-old Gibbstown resident Eddie Lee Warthen, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office (GCPO).
Warthen was struck twice by a four-door sedan around 4:30 a.m. Sunday on East Madison Street.
He was transported to Cooper Medical Center in Camden where he was pronounced dead three hours later. The cause of death was determined to be from traumatic injury.
Washington Township resident Robert Springer, 25, who is unemployed, is believed to have been the driver of the vehicle.
He is charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, specifically a handgun, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution.
He is being held in default of $500,000 bail.
His twin sister, Jessica Springer, who is employed as a dancer at bachelor parties, has been charged with tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Sperber was convicted for Jan. 25, 2011, vehicle-vs.-wheelchair crash which killed John Kennedy. Sperber contended he thought he hit a trash can, not a person. An appeals court ruled that the jury wasn’t properly instructed on what Sperber knew of the crash at the time it happened, and ordered a new trial.
But instead of jury selection Monday, a plea deal was reached, according to defense attorney Brian Maloney. Sperber pleaded no contest to the same hit-and-run charge after prosecutors agreed not to ask for any more prison time than what he’s already served, Maloney said.

PARIS — Paris police Chief Michael Madden said Tuesday that phone records of people police believe are involved in the hit-and-run death of Xavier Fuentes of Turner have been subpoenaed.
The 16-year-old Leavitt Area High School student was run down by a vehicle on Saturday evening, March 15, on an unlit stretch of Route 117 between a small rest stop and Brett Hill Road.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – City of Poughkeepsie police are seeking the public’s help in tracking down a hit-and-run driver who struck an 18-year-old man back in April and left him with serious injuries.
Police said that on Monday, April 21, at around 10:50 p.m., the teen was dropped off from work in the area of Main and Cherry streets (near Chester Chicken). He was crossing Main Street from the north to the south side, just east of Cherry, when an early-mid 2000s, red/ maroon-colored commercial work van, believed to be a Ford, with a white-colored roof rack, and gold New York state license plates, traveling in a westerly direction on Main Street, struck him.

TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa Police arrested a 42-year-old man Monday evening in connection with a February 25, 2014, hit and run death at 3rd and Lewis.
Angela Young, 57, was killed as she crossed the street using a walker. A surveillance camera at a business captured the incident on video.
Officers said a tip led them to a home in the 300 block of South Xanthus on Monday. After getting a search warrant, members of the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force found a white minivan in the garage that matched the description of the van in the surveillance video.
Police say the 1998 Ford Windstar van was inside a shed covered with a tarp and surrounded by sheet metal. They say a new wooden fence had been built “around the premises which appeared to be used to conceal the vehicle.”

OCEANSIDE (CNS) – A 40-year-old man struck by a hit-and-run driver in Oceanside last week has died of his injuries, and police today sought help from the public in identifying the motorist.
