1449. Van Nuys, Cal. March 31. 42-year-old man injured when struck by a dark-colored sedan which fled the scene.
1450. Gloucester Twp., NJ. March 30. Woman suffers broken leg when struck by a dark, four-door 1997-2002 Ford Escort struck which fled the scene. Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call the traffic safety unit at (856) 228-4500.
1451. Syracuse, NY. April 1. 17-year-old girl suffered head injuries when she was struck by a dark-colored sedan which fled the scene.
1452. N. Riverside, Ill. March 31. 65-year-old woman killed after being struck by a newer model, four-door vehicle, possibly gray or silver, with a partial plate of K97, which fled the scene.
1453. Gold River, Cal. April 2. 30-year-old model struck and killed by a light blue Dodge Caravan from the mid 1990s which fled the scene.
1454. Greenville, SC. March 30. 50-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle.

According to state police, a Stroudsburg woman lied about being raped to get out of being arrested for driving under the influence. Beth Rivera, 26, was arrested and charged with DUI, a hit and run crash and filing false reports to law enforcement Wednesday evening, following a two-vehicle crash on Route 534 at the intersection with Barry’s Road in Polk Township.
She was later found, and told police a man had sexually assaulted her and that’s why she fled the scene. Rivera was taken to Palmerton hospital to have blood drawn and to be evaluated for injuries, but she refused a rape kit and examination.
