1444. Cranford, NJ. March 26. 57-year-old man suffers head and back injuries when struck by a maroon Ford F-150 or Ford Expedition manufactured between 1999 and 2003. Anyone with information should call New Jersey State Police detectives at (732) 442-8600 ext. 2371.
1445. Scottsdale, Ariz. March 28. Woman in her 30s suffers life-threatening injuries when struck by a silver Dodge Durango which fled the scene. Witnesses told police the victim, who recently moved in with friends, was involved in a verbal altercation before she was struck.
1446. Douglass Twp., Pa. March 27. 25-year-old man struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1447. Tamaqua, Pa. March 28. 28-year-old man airlifted to the hospital with head injuries after being struck by a Subaru which fled the scene.

HERMITAGE, Pa. — Police looking for a car possibly involved in a Mercer County hit-and-run found the vehicle crashed and its driver dead late Sunday night.

Mark Tietjen, the suspect in a Feb. 9 hit-and-run on Lynnhaven Parkway that left an 11-year girl hospitalized, is back in custody after a Virginia Beach judge revoked his bond on Monday. Tietjen, 37, was granted $25,000 bond on March 17, with the conditions that he remain drug and alcohol free, comply with the pretrial release program, and does not drive. Monday, prosecutors alleged in a hearing that Tietjen visited an ABC store on the very day he was released on bond, March 17.

The St. Louis County Attorney’s Office said this afternoon that evidence gathered by police identified the driver who didn’t stop after striking and killing a Hermantown man as he walked across Arrowhead Road, but it can’t be proven beyond a reasonable doubt he knew he hit the pedestrian.

“Things were breaking like a bomb had gone off and so that was the sound of the car hitting the children, the transformer, and then busting through the wall of the restaurant,” said Widmier.
