1608-1611. Chicago. June 6. Woman and three children hospitalized in serious-to-critical condition after being struck by a red sport utility vehicle which was found “some distance” from the accident scene, but no driver around.
1612. Brooklyn. June 5. 51-year-old man suffers serious head injuries after being mowed down by a white Jaguar which fled the scene.
1613. Wyoming, Mich. June 5. 20-year-old man on bicycle injured when struck by a black SUV which fled the scene.
1614. Virginia Beach, Va. June 4. 33-year-old Navy lieutenant injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1615. Surprise, Ariz. June 5. 17-year-old boy riding his bicycle listed in “extremely critical condition” after being struck by a vehicle believed to be a dark pickup.
1616. Salt Lake City, Utah. June 7. 24-year-old woman riding a bicycle among a group of friends fatally struck by a older model dark-colored Volkswagon 4-door passenger car, possibly a Passat, which fled the scene.
1617. Charlotte, NC. June 7. Pedestrian struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle.
1618. Columbus, Ohio. June 8. 52-year-old man struck and killed by a Chevy Trailblazer with damage to the front grill and hood and possibly the windshield, model between the years 2002 and 2007, which fled the scene.
1619. Rockledge, Fla. June 7. 59-year-old man injured after being struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1620. Santa Cruz, Cal. June 8. 25-year-old man on bicycle struck and killed by a maroon Nissan which fled the scene.

A Roseville woman suspected of telling her son to get rid of a car involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Dinkytown in April is seeking to have charges against her thrown out because a key witness is casting doubt on whether it was her voice he heard in the background of a phone conversation, according to a newly filed motion.
The motion filed Friday to dismiss felony charges against Diane Bakdash includes an interview with the witness, identified in court papers only as B.B. That person bought Timothy Bakdash’s damaged Mitsubishi soon after the April 15 crash, a car that Timothy Bakdash allegedly used to run down a group of college students as they walked home from a bar near the University of Minnesota.

According to police, 25-year old Marie Ann Gauthier was traveling north on Route 83 when she turned onto Loveland Hill Road and struck another car that was at the stop light. Gauthier left the accident scene, but police were able to quickly track her down, thanks to a trail of leaking fluids from her car from the accident. Gauthier was found to have a blood alcohol content of .193 and.174.

A 74-year-old Gilbertville woman, who claimed not to be aware she had struck someone, was held for trial Monday in the hit-and-run death of a 26-year-old Kristy Bender. Patricia Maurer is accused of killing Bender, who was walking home from her job at 1:30 p.m. April 27 when she was struck by a car along South Township Line Road in Upper Providence Township.
Bender, of Royersford, somersaulted into the air and came to rest on the grass, witnesses said. She was struck with such force that her shoes and socks were knocked off. She later died of head and chest injuries at Pottstown Memorial Hospital.

A Holland (Mich.) pastor said he, his pregnant wife, two children and unborn baby are all recovering without serious injury after a hit-and-run driver struck and rolled their mini-van on the Ford Freeway (I-196) Sunday night.

Ryan LeVin could see some prison time after all – but not for the hit-and-run deaths of two British businessmen in South Florida.
Illinois corrections officials are seeking his extradition for a parole violation stemming from a 2006 incident in which he ran over a Chicago police officer and sparked a high-speed chase on the Kennedy Expressway. Officials say he violated the terms of his parole last year when he traveled without permission to Florida to answer the vehicular homicide charges against him.

The woman whose SUV struck and killed a Columbia woman in Dupont Circle in October was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder when she hit the woman and then drove home, her attorney told a D.C. Superior Court jury Tuesday.
Prosecutors say Jorida Davidson, 31, was drunk during a hit-and-run that killed Kiela M. Ryan, 24. Prosecutors charged Davidson with several counts, including voluntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of a collision and driving under the influence. She faces a maximum of 30 years in prison.

SUQUAMISH — A 44-year-old Seattle man was arrested Monday afternoon on suspicion of hit and run, DUI, intimidating a public servant and resisting arrest after troopers resorted to using a Taser on him multiple times near a fireworks stand off Highway 305, according to documents filed in Kitsap County District Court.

The victim of a hit-and-run driver Tuesday night is recovering, but said he would be doing even better if the driver of the vehicle that struck him would turn himself in to police.
“We don’t mean any ill will,” Juneau resident Manual Antonio Mendoza, 70, said. “We just want to believe in being human.”
I respect Roy Sanders taking responsibility for his actions.

TROY — The city driver who hit and killed a 6-year-old boy on Memorial Day told a judge Wednesday that he at first did not realize he hit the youngster with his pickup truck but then saw him in the road when he looked in his rearview mirror.
“I saw the little boy there and thought to stop but people started to throw bottles and stuff at me and I just took off,” Roy Sanders, 21, told Rensselaer County Judge Robert Jacon as tears ran down his face. “I was scared, your honor.”
In a development rarely seen in court, Sanders pleaded guilty to all charges at his arraignment on an indictment handed up Friday.

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Friends of a hit and run victim in Austin hope a new Facebook page will lead to clues about the suspect in the case.
The Facebook page is called Justice for Courtney Paige Griffin and encourages anyone with information about the case to come forward. More than 200 people have joined the group which is determined to get justice for Courtney.
Courtney Griffin died on May 27 while walking home to her Tarrytown apartment. An aide to representative Wayne Christian, Gabrielle Nestande, was arrested a few hours later and charged with failing to stop and render aid.
