1590-1. Pittsburgh. May 30. Two doctors on bicycles struck and injured by a gold SUV which fled the scene. The third bicyclist, Bob Henke, witnessed the whole thing. “Seeing your best friends lying on the ground because someone was in a hurry, putting them in the hospital, putting their lives in danger…it’s unnecessary, uncalled for,” said Henke.
1592. Burlington City, NJ. May 30. Unidentified bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1593. Detroit. May 30. 12-year-old boy on bicycle suffers a dislocated shoulder, five staples securing his scalp and a badly sprained ankle when struck by a black Kia which fled. “I don’t remember anything cuz, at first when I was hit I got knocked unconscious and I couldn’t see anything,” the young man said.
1594. Seattle. May 30. 9-year-old girl’s legs broken when struck by what’s believed to be a stolen SUV involved in a police chase at the time.
1595. Troy, NY. May 30. 6-year-old boy struck and killed by a vehicle that police has found, driven by someone who police haven’t.
1596. Burton, Mich. May 30. 41-year-old man on bicycle hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a dark-colored Chevy TrailBlazer.
1597. Fort Wayne, Ind. May 30. 3-year-old girl injured when struck by a silver Saturn. Investigators identified skid marks at the scene that indicated an attempt to stop and that the driver actually got out of the vehicle, looked at the child and reportedly said she “would be all right” before departing.

Dr. Claud Perry was riding his bicycle early in the morning on Tuesday, May 24 on Folsom near Crow Road.
He was first hit by the driver of a Ford pickup truck. While the driver and a witness tried to help Perry, a female driver hit Perry and dragged him about 100 yards down the road. The witness said the driver got out, said ‘oh my God, oh my God,’ then she got back into her car and sped away, running over Perry.

Police arrested a man on suspicion of fleeing a scene of an accident and drunken driving Monday after firefighters helped him down from the Makiki Post Office roof, to which he jumped after running down the H-1 freeway.
