1542. Tampa. May 14. 57-year-old man struck and killed by a 1993 or 1994 black or dark in colored Ford Explorer with Chrome Trim which fled the scene.
1543. Prince George’s County, Md. May 14. 34-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle.
1544. Auburn, NY. May 14. 37-year-old man on scooter critically injured when struck by a dark-colored, possibly red, SUV which fled the scene.
1545. North Hollywood, Cal. May 14. Pedestrian struck by a white Nissan Maxima fleeing police who fired shots during the flight.
1546. Denver, Co. May 13. Fourth-grade boy struck and injured by a dark sedan which fled the scene. The impact — caught on surveillance video — threw the boy to the right side of the car like a doll, where his head appears to hit the back of the passenger-side rearview mirror.
1547. Kansas City, Mo. May 13. Unidentified man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1548. Jacksonville, Fla. May 14. Man in wheelchair struck and killed by a white full-sized pickup truck which fled the scene.
1549. Tampa, Fla. May 14. Man struck and killed by a 1993 – 1994 black or dark in colored Ford Explorer with Chrome Trim which fled the scene.
1550. Newark, NJ. May 15. Unidentified man struck and “very critically injured” by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene.
1551. Del Paso Heights, Cal. May 15. Man in his 50s struck and killed by a dark SUV which fled the scene.

1553. Memphis, Tenn. May 15. 33-year-old man critically injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1554. Chicago. May 14. 45-year-old man struck and killed by a red Dodge pickup truck which took off.

EUGENE (KMTR) – A bicyclist who was hit by a car Monday is still recovering in the hospital after suffering a broken back and broken wrist.
Police are still trying to find a suspect.
When Naperville police found Rebecca A. Zacha running along a path in the wee hours of May 4, she reportedly told them she was headed to a friend’s house.
Instead, it appears Zacha might have been giving new meaning to the term “hit-and-run.” Further investigation led police to conclude Zacha was drunk, and was running away after allegedly crashing her car into a vehicle parked outside a home on the city’s far south side.

HENRICO COUNTY, VA (WTVR) – The driver who hit and killed a man on Interstate 295 last Fall will spend one year in jail for leaving the scene and not calling police.
Brian Smith, 34, of Highland Springs, was originally sentenced to six years behind bars, however the judge suspended all but one of those years.

Police say the Little Rock man was arguing with a woman in his van, he got out, and started taking his clothes off and walking in the street before a car hit him.

Tara Farley tended to her sick neighbor, was a live-in caretaker for a family friend, and sped her father’s recovery from heart surgery and her mother’s recovery from breast cancer.
“She was always willing to give her time,” her mother, Marie Farley, said Friday.
Tara Farley, a feisty, 31-year-old mother and certified nursing assistant from Elliston, was hit by at least one vehicle Thursday night in a foggy stretch of U.S. 460 in Roanoke County. The driver didn’t stop. … Farley was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

CATOOSA, Oklahoma — A hit-and-run driver gives the Hard Rock Casino its newest attraction.
A pick-up towing a jeep hit a fire hydrant in front of the casino. Catoosa police say the driver didn’t want to stay to face the consequences.
