3142. Seattle, Wash. Nov. 13. 49-year-old man on a bicycle critically injured when struck by a blue and grey or silver tandem truck which fled the scene.
3143. Cherry Hill, NJ. Nov. 9. 41-year-old woman injured when struck by a small to midsize older model, tan or gold, Chevrolet Malibu or Ford Taurus which fled the scene.
3144. Westminister, Cal. Nov. 12. 24-year-old man struck and killed by a late-model Toyota Rav4 which fled the scene.
3145. Fort Worth, Texas. Nov. 13. Unidentified man injured when struck by a stolen green pickup truck which fled the scene
3146. Chicago. Nov. 12. 44-year-old man killed and 46-year-old brother-in-law injured when both were struck by a dark blue Volkswagen Beetle, with the Illinois license plate number P121817, which fled the scene
3147. San Francisco, Cal. Nov. 12. 26-year-old competitive bicyclist injured when struck by a late model black Porsche Cayenne which fled the scene.
3148. Glendale, Ariz. Nov. 11. 23-year-old man struck and killed by a dark-blue 2000 or 2001 Dodge Dakota which fled the scene.

On Wednesday, Louisiana State Police were able to get in touch with the family of a bicyclist who was killed by a hit and run driver just after midnight on Sunday.
Police said Bruce D. Burge, 58, was struck from behind by someone driving a maroon sedan, possibly a Saturn. The victim’s body wasn’t discovered until near day break.
It took police over three days to track down his next of kin, due to the fact that his family lived in Portland, Oregon.

Serving 26 years as a DeKalb County police officer wasn’t enough for Elgin L. Daniel. He wasn’t done.
“He was too young to retire,” older brother Edward Daniel told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “He figured he’d go back for a few more years, then call it quits for good.”
Two years ago, Elgin Daniel went to work as an officer for the smaller Henry County Police Department. Monday night, Daniel’s life and career came to a tragic end when he was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver.

CLEVELAND– The driver who struck and severely injured an off-duty police officer with his car was sentenced Tuesday.
54-year-old Gary Fury will spend two and a half years behind bars. That was the maximum sentence he could have received.
The September hit-and-run crash left Officer Robert Bielak fighting for his life.

“An accident is one thing. When you leave the scene that’s a whole different level,” Hebert said. “Everybody is shocked, very distraught. We just can’t believe it.”

OCALA – A driver who hit two utility poles and was involved in several hit and run crashes Tuesday was stopped by a police officer. When commanded to get out of his truck, the driver smiled at the cop and drove away.
