3040-41. Norwich, Ct. Oct. 10. 20-year-old woman suffers critical injuries and 21-year-old man suffers minor injuries when struck by a four-door sedan which fled the scene. (Update: Arrest)
3042-43. Snohomish, Wash. Oct. 8. Two men injured when struck by a Chevrolet Ventura, Pontiac Montana or an Oldsmobile Silhouette minivan, likely manufactured between 1997 and 2005, which fled the scene.
3044. St. Cloud, Minn. Oct. 12. 50-year-old man injured when struck by a blue or gray mid-size sport-utility vehicle or crossover which fled the scene.
3045-46. Quincy, Mass. Oct. 12. 28-year and 45-year-old man seriously injured when struck head-on by a dark pickup truck which fled the scene.
3047-48. Miami-Dade, Fla. Oct. 13. 13-year-old boy killed and his 51-year-old father injured when struck by an Elantra which fled the scene.
3049. Gilmer, Texas. Oct. 12. Elderly woman injured when struck by a white, newer-model Ford pickup which fled the scene.

EVESHAM — Police continued to search Saturday for a pedestrian who may have been struck by an elderly driver earlier in the week.
As of late Saturday, no one had been found.
Friday, police recovered additional “forensic evidence” from the car of an elderly driver.

MIAMI (WSVN) — A former model charged in a deadly hit-and-run is copping a plea. Valentina Hubsch pleaded no contest Friday. She was sentenced to 18 months of house arrest.
Police said Hubsch struck a University of Miami student in Coral Gables back in November of 2010 and drove away, claiming she did not realize she hit someone.
The victim’s mother said she called her attorney instead of police the night of the accident. “The defendant didn’t go home and call 911, she called her attorney. Why would you do that if you didn’t think you struck a person? Why would you do that?” said Paula Jones.
Paul Jones, 21, was running across Red Road near 45th Street in Coral Gables when he was hit.
Hubsch spoke to Jones when she said, “The truth is, I did nothing wrong. I made a mistake by not calling the police right away,” she said. “I did not do anything that would have caused your son’s death because I didn’t know. I didn’t see him.”

Nearly a year and a half after a bicyclist was struck and killed in a hit and run crash in Hollywood, police say they found and charged a suspect in the incident.
Albert Ciro Verdi, 49, turned himself in to authorities last month in the May 13, 2011 crash that killed 45-year-old Willmar Edwardo Galeano, Hollywood Police said Friday.

For the next three decades, Weeden drove recklessly. He was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving 11 times. But police, prosecutors and judges never kept him off the road for very long.
Now authorities say he has killed a child.
Authorities said Weeden kept driving after hitting two brothers as they crossed St. Charles Rock Road in Pagedale on Oct. 5. Traye-shon Williams, 4, died at the scene. Jay’Shard Conner, 10, was released Tuesday from St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Wearing a leg cast on Friday, Jay’Shard used a walker to approach his brother’s casket for a final goodbye.
Weeden, charged with murder and assault, is being held at the St. Louis County Jail in lieu of $250,000 cash bail. Through jailers, he declined to be interviewed.
His son, Ricky Weeden Jr., said his father was “not a monster” but a “pillar of the community” who provided many people in north St. Louis County with jobs in their family construction business. He said his father did not have a drinking problem.
The record says otherwise. The state revoked Weeden Sr.’s drivers license in 1993, but Weeden kept driving, without insurance, speeding, running stop lights, swerving out of his lane, throwing beer cans out of his car window, giving police chase. He was arrested by 21 police departments in St. Louis County, sometimes berating and threatening officers. His ex-wife said he was pepper sprayed so many times, he was losing his vision.
In the last 30 years, he has been arrested about 150 times, almost always while driving in north St. Louis County. Six of his 11 DWI arrests resulted in convictions: four times on misdemeanors and two on felonies. He has served fewer than two years total in prison on the DWI charges. (He also has served time in prison on gun charges.)

Williams returned on Friday, two years after her daughter was killed by a hit-and-run driver while crossing Allwood Road to reach a bus stop steps from her apartment. The driver kept going as she lay on the street, badly injured and moments from death. Williams is devastated that the killer has gone free while she continues on without her only child.
“Do they have a conscience? Why did they leave my baby there? Why?” she asked. “Before I leave this earth, I will be more at ease if this person comes forward.”

A 36-year-old man is now facing manslaughter charges after allegedly striking a man with his vehicle and leaving the scene of the accident., Breckenridge Police Chief Larry Mahan said in a news release.
Brandon Wayne Hayes was taken into custody after the Breckenridge Police Department received several 911 calls in reference to a hit-and-run accident about 1 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of South Miller Street, the police chief said.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A young girl is still recovering in the hospital after getting hit by a car that didn’t have its headlights on. That accident has one mother speaking out about a dangerous game she claims some children are playing at the bus stop.
It’s called tag team, our sister station WANE reports. The goal’s to touch the hood of cars passing by.
Police don’t know if the girl who was hit was playing the game – they said she was simply crossing the street. Police are searching for the person who hit the young girl who was crossing the street at Broadway and Scott Avenue to get to her bus stop Wednesday morning. The girl told officers she looked both ways.
