Somebody in Columbia, SC Knows Who Hit-and-Ran Lindsay Bires, and Should Turn Them In

I’ve been in touch with the family of Lindsay Bires, the cardiac nurse who was hit-and-ran Sept. 16 outside the Columbia, SC hospital where she works and is now a patient fighting her way free of a coma. From all signs they’ve shared, Lindsay is making a remarkable recovery and they’re justifiably hoping for the best.

That said, all that Columbia Police know is that a small white car was responsible for nearly ending Bires’ life. There’s a billboard up advertising a $5K reward. But, it shouldn’t be about money. If you know who’s responsible for this heinous act, call the police and turn the scumbag in.

Chief Scott encourages citizens with information about this incident to call, text or submit online, their anonymous tip to Crimestoppers in any of the following ways:
CALL toll-free, 888-CRIME-SC.
TEXT to CRIMES (274637), and mark the beginning of the message with “TIPSC,” followed by the tip information.
LOG onto:, and click on the red “Submit a tip” tab

It’s the right thing to do. So is saying a prayer and sending good thoughts out for Lindsay and her family. They’re in a place similar to where my family was in Nov./Dec. 2008, and I know how helpful it was for my family and my recovery. – Columbia, South Carolina |
