Aug. 20. 13-year-old girl injured when struck by a gold or tan SUV, likely a Ford Explorer or Jeep Wrangler, which fled the scene. “Witnesses said the driver stopped the car, he and the passenger got out and looked at the girl lying in the street, then got back in the car and drove away. struck by a which fled the scene.”
2929. Madison, Wisc. Aug. 20. 60-year-old man suffers non-life-threatening injuries when struck by a a 1990s Toyota pickup truck which fled the scene.
2930. Bronx, NY. Aug. 21. 26-year-old man struck and killed by a white box truck which fled the scene.
2931. Clearwater, Fla. Aug. 22. 11-year-old boy injured when struck by a vehicle which fled the scene. Driver IDd and contacted shortly thereafter.
2932. Glendale, Ariz. Aug. 20. Man seriously injured when struck by a a light-colored F350, F450, F550 or a similar style truck which fled the scene.
2933-34. San Diego, Cal. Aug. 22. 16- and 20-year-old brothers on a bicycle injured when struck by a small white pickup similar to a Ford Ranger which fled the scene.
2935. Myrtle Creek, Oreg. Aug. 23. 49-year-old man seriously injured when struck by a full size newer model silver or grey Chevy pickup which fled the scene.

RICHMOND, Va. — A judge convicted a Richmond woman Tuesday in a hit-and-run case in which her car struck two men in Shockoe Bottom, one fatally, after the two men fell into the street during a large brawl.
Substitute Judge Buford M. Parsons Jr. found Jennifer Jon Slemp, 37, guilty of leaving the scene of an accident that caused injury or death, rejecting Slemp’s claim that she did not know she hit anything, except perhaps a pothole. The incident occurred about 2 a.m. April 21.

The family of Jackson DeJesus pushed for changes in the North Street area after the 16-year-old was killed last month.
“Now some people stop and are polite to people, but still some they go like a jet,” said New Britain resident Norberto Mercado.

COCOA, Florida — An unidentified male was struck and killed by a Cocoa man driving this morning on State Road 524 in Cocoa, according to Public Information Officer Barbara Matthews with the Cocoa Police Department.
Just before 7:00 am, 22-year-old William Ernest Watson of Cocoa, Florida was driving his 1997 Chevrolet Truck eastbound on State Road 524 in the area of Westminster Drive. Watson went to retrieve something that had fallen from the driver’s seat when he swerved off the road and struck a pedestrian walking eastbound on State Road 524.
Watson realized he had hit a person but told investigators that he panicked. When officers responded to the scene, they noticed Watson’s truck heading southbound on Clearlake Road with heavy front-end damage and what appeared to be blood on the windshield. Watson was stopped by officers and later confessed to the crash.

When police arrived on the scene, they found out the man – who had been riding a bicycle before the wreck – had been hit by a car which fled the scene.
The 58-year-old victim was transported to St. Anthony’s West Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. (H/T Telly)

ANACORTES, Wash. — Troopers searching for a driver wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash found her when they spotted her car being towed. A 23-year-old motorcyclist, Michael McCurdy, was killed in the crash Tuesday night on Highway 20 near Fidalgo Bay Road.

A witness who saw a South Lake Tahoe bicyclist hit by a white Subaru on Highway 89 and 12th Street aided police in finding the driver.
As Rose was being treated for his injuries, the witness followed the Subaru and called 911. The driver of the Subaru was involved in a second accident, hitting tree stumps of the side of the road near Tahoe Island and Tahoe Vista avenues. The witness guided police to the Subaru, whose driver attempted to evade them and became involved in a third accident at Bi-State Petroleum. The driver of the Subaru was forced to stop when the vehicle became impaled on the steel and concrete barriers in front of the business.

Police say Marion was then run over by 2003 Nissan Infiniti SUV driven by 39-year-old Litasha Stokes.
At the time of the crash, witnesses told investigators the Stokes stopped briefly but never got out of the SUV before she fled the scene.
Investigators found two car parts at the scene bearing the Nissan logo and part number that eventually led them to Stokes’ home on Sheila Drive in Apopka.
