2866-67. Mount Arlington, NJ. Aug. 5. 47-year-old and 12-year-old girl riding a motorcycle injured when struck by an SUV which fled the scene.
2868-71. Greenville, NC. Aug. 5. Woman and three children seriously injured when struck by a white or light colored four door sedan which fled the scene.
2872. Fayetteville, NC. Aug. 5. 58-year-old woman struck and killed by a black, economy-sized car with round headlights which fled the scene.
2873. Charlotte, NC. Aug. 4. 52-year-old man fatally struck by a a red, two-door sports car — possibly a Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird or a Pontiac Trans Am — which fled the scene.
2874-75. Cooper City, Fla. Aug. 5. Two bicyclists struck and killed by a stolen silver Infiniti which fled the scene.
2876. Chicago, Ill. Aug. 6. Unidentified woman riding a bicycle fatally struck by a semi which fled the scene.
2877. Corpus Christi, Texas. Aug. 6. 21-year-old woman injured when, while jogging, she was struck by a late 1990’s GMC Suburban or Chevy Tahoe, possibly tan colored which fled the scene.
2878. Chicago. Aug. 7. 42-year-old Army vet/road worker suffers broken leg and internal bleeding after being struck by a silver or gray car, possibly a Nissan, which fled the scene.
2879-81. Gervais, Ore. Aug. 6. 26- and 25-year-old males and 21-year-old woman injured when, while stopped jumping a car battery, they were struck by Dodge Caravan from which the driver ran.
2882. Brooklyn, NY. Aug. 6. 31-year-old man struck and killed by a vehicle which fled the scene but was caught a few blocks away.
2883-84. Index, Wash. Aug. 5. 47-year-old man injured and his dog killed when struck by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene.

GIG HARBOR, Wash. — The husband of a bicyclist who was hit by an SUV that fled the crash scene tracked down the damaged vehicle on Fox Island, took pictures, interviewed a witness and then turned the information over to police, police documents say.

A wrong-way, hit-and-run driver who struck and severely injured a Milwaukee police officer on Christmas was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison.
Juan C. Alvarado, 20, of Milwaukee was speeding west in the eastbound lanes of W. Windlake Ave. at 5:15 p.m. Christmas Day when he jumped the curb and struck officer Frank Vrtochnick as he jumped out of a squad car. His partner in the driver’s seat threw the car in reverse in an attempt to avoid a collision, but could not. The other officer was not seriously hurt.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Police credit two Good Samaritans for helping put a hit-and-run driving suspect behind bars.
Fifty-five year old Gary Lockhart was charged with DUI, vehicular assault and leaving the scene on an accident. He allegedly struck an 18-year-old who was crossing the intersection of Tennessee Boulevard and Church Street.

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) – A 21-year-old woman faces hit and run charges in a deadly crash involving a cyclist.
The Louisiana State Police said Jodie Hoseth of Holden is suspected of hitting Eddie Arinder, 50, of Baton Rouge while he was riding his bicycle on July 7.
After a four-week investigation, she was arrested on Aug. 3 and charged with felony hit and run.

SAN ANTONIO – Crime Stoppers announced Tuesday that it is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in a hit and run death two years ago.
On Aug. 7, 2010, the body of 21-year-old Ramon Zuniga was found on the shoulder of Loop 410 at Interstate 35 on San Antonio’s northeast side.
Investigators said that Zuniga had been hit by three different vehicles.

Madison police said a pair of witnesses to a rollover crash on the Beltline followed the impaired driver who caused it and forced him to stop until authorities arrived Sunday afternoon.
Dylan Conway-Greene, 21, of Madison, was driving on the West Beltline Highway near South Whitney Way around 5:20 p.m. Sunday after drinking and smoking marijuana, according to a news release.
Conway-Greene hit an SUV carrying a family with two children under 10, police said, causing a rollover crash near the Odana Hills Golf Course. Authorities said no one was seriously injured.

A Bristol Township man with a suspended driver’s license has been charged in a hit-and-run accident that fatally injured a 23-year-old Bristol Township man last month.
Jonathan Simmons, 27, of Atkins Avenue, surrendered to Middletown police Tuesday and was arraigned on charges of accident involving death or injury, reckless endangerment and three summary traffic violations: driving while suspended, failure to stop and render aid and failure to notify police.
The most serious charge is accident involving death or injury, a third-degree felony that carries a maximum seven-year prison sentence, if convicted.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 27-year-old Minneapolis man pleaded guilty Monday in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a man on his way to synagogue last November.
