Hopefully, lovebirds Ting L. Gu and Richard B. Truong will miss the few Christmases behind bars, what with their attempts to hide the vehicle with which Gu (allegedly) struck and critically injured a 63-year-old man in Lumberton, NJ.
Police have arrested a woman and her fiancé in connection with a hit-and-run Dec. 10 that left a 63-year-old man in critical condition. Police said the couple hid the car that was involved.
Ting L. Gu, 22, of Lumberton, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in serious injury, hindering her own apprehension and obstruction of justice. Richard B. Truong, 22, of Lumberton, was charged with hindering his own apprehension and obstruction of justice.
Gu is accused of striking the victim with her 2013 BMW shortly after 8:45 p.m. Dec. 10 on Route 38 near the Lumberton Plaza and then driving away.
The victim was sent to Cooper University Hospital in Camden with serious injuries and remained in critical condition Wednesday, police said.
Gu was alone in the car during the accident, but had help from her fiancé Truong afterwards, according to police.
Investigators learned that the couple hid Gu’s car at an undisclosed house in Lawnside, Camden County, authorities said. [Burlington County Times]
