Dykstra business manager “severing my ties with the shell of what used to be my hero”

So, Lenny Dykstra bailed on the “charity” boxing event in which he was supposed to brawl with Jose Canseco last night.

This came just a few days after his local business manager Daniel Herman told me, “For those out of you out there saying this and that, remember this: there’ve been many boxers to enter the ring, but there’s only one Nails! People don’t like Nails for the same reason they didn’t like Muhammad Ali. They are the wrong kind of Citizen. They are not quiet. They stand up to be counted. And this is all for Charity Brian, Lenny is a hero for doing this! Jose will be disciplined SATURDAY NOVEMBER 5TH, at the Avalon Hotel!”

Suffice it to say, Herman is none to pleased this morning after having traveled across the country only to have Dykstra screw things up. Here’s what he had to say about it this morning:

So this was a crazy few weeks.

The day Lenny got out he called me and told me to set up a show for him. Help sell his book idea, and help him organize everything and anything.

So I did.

Lenny accepted the terms of two deals one being the fight with Canseco. He backed out of both. Only this time him backing out caused me to have to travel thousands of miles and harm a good autograph promoters show. He really burned me on this one. So I am out dude. I officially am severing my ties with the shell of what used to be my hero.

It is not 1993, it is 2011 and just because Lenny was the man on the field and inspired me to do great things with my life, I have come to the realization that those days are over.

The cool thing is I am 27, I can move on, and do bigger and better things. While karma will slowly erode Lenny Dykstra. I will always remember what he was, what I thought he was, and try not to think about what he turned into. I think it would make a very entertaining documentary, I think people need to really know what happened to Nails. Spring 2012 expect the documentary detailing how Nails became liquid nails, released on Pick Six Productions LLC, a new division of Chinga Chang Records.

The one hilarious thing that came out of this was John Bolaris coming out of the no where saying Lenny never agreed to fight. Pretty sure the guy is banned by his own company to speaking to the press on account of him being a half wit. Ron Burgundy should stick to blaming his problems on ‘roofy incidents’ in Miami rather then speaking on something he has no clue about.
