5398. Detroit, Mich. July 20. 33-year-old man fatally struck by two vehicles, including a newer-model dark sedan, which fled the scene.
5399. Franklin, Ind. July 19. Pedestrian injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
5400. Little Rock, Ark. July 21. 76-year-old man fatally struck, while jogging, by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
5401. Pembroke Pines, Fla. July 21. 22-year-old man injured when struck by a Land Rover which fled the scene.
5402. Buffalo, NY. July 20. 2-year-old girl critically injured when struck by a white four-door Impala which fled the scene.
5403. Evansville, Ind. July 20. 20-year-old woman injured when struck by a red Jeep Wrangler which fled the scene.
5404. Corpus Christi, Texas. July 20. 61-year-old man fatally struck by an SUV which fled the scene.
5405. LaGrange, Ga. July 21. Pedestrian injured when struck by a tan Toyota Camry which fled the scene.
5406. Lakeland, Fla. July 23. 44-year-old man fatally struck by a black or very dark-colored pickup, possibly a Chevrolet, which fled the scene.
5407. Tempe, Ariz. July 22. 20-year-old male on bicycle injured when struck by a dark-colored Chrysler Sebring or Dodge Stratus from between 2001 and 2006 which fled the scene.
5408. Rochester, NY. July 23. 41-year-old woman suffers life-threatening injuries when struck by a van which fled the scene.

Carl said he knew his wife was hurt. He kept saying to her, ‘talk to me, talk to me.’ Gayle responded back to him saying ‘I hurt,’ and then her head dropped. She was pronounced dead shortly after.
And I quote (II)…
Troopers believe Doucette was driving a 1997 Lincoln passenger car that struck cyclist, Lon Lomas, 30, then fled the scene after the crash. Lomas was cycling on LA 92 near Milton.
Doucette was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Facility.

Police said an intoxicated man intentionally ran into a bicyclist and fled the scene in northeast Albuquerque on Sunday evening.
Officers were called to Hannett and Broadway at 5:30 p.m. on a report of a crash. Police said Edward Gurule, 53, ran over Tiger Toya, 19, near the intersection and fled the area.

The report also indicates an Ann Arbor police officer who was the first at the scene allowed one of the cars that stopped on the side of the freeway to leave, believing the people to be gawkers. There is no indication to think otherwise, but the officer did not get the contact information of the people for a detective to follow-up with them.

Saying California is experiencing an epidemic of hit-and-runs, city and state officials announced a joint effort today to push for a statewide alert system that would help track down motorists who flee crash scenes.
The proposed “yellow alert” system — similar to an Amber Alert — would display license plate and vehicle information of suspects on digital highway boards soon after a serious or fatal hit-and-run occurs.

Police continued to hunt today for a minivan involved in a July 19 hit-and-run that killed a man in East Camden.
Alfredo Siguenza-Trejo, 39, died of his injuries July 22. Siguenza-Trejo was standing near his own vehicle on North 27th Street when a white minivan, possibly a Ford Econoline, hit him, police said.

“My son, anybody’s child, for a hit and run, doesn’t deserve to go unjustified, whether the person was drinking or sober, you still have to pay for it,” said Jesse Romero.

A jury convicted Pablo Cruz of murder Wednesday, leaving the convicted felon to face 25 years to life in prison for the night he drunkenly plowed his pick-up truck into a bicyclist in Albany and led police on a two-county chase with the victim’s body on his vehicle.
