We’ve talked about coward-cop Kelly Gunderson here before. She was the hit-and-run scumbag who hit Vance Banks and left him for dead in a Washington Twp. street in Aug. 2011. She turned herself in a little while later. Generally, when people do that, it’s to return their BAC to a legal level. Not saying that’s what the disgraced officer did. Just speaking in generalities.
Anyway, the scumbag was in court again yesterday for sentencing. Banks, who has had a dickens of a time recovering from injuries sustained when Gunderson treated him like worthless roadkill, has forgiven his almost-killer, according to a statement read in court by the prosecutor.
“He doesn’t want to hold a grudge,” the prosecutor noted. “He feels if he can’t forgive others, then he can’t be forgiven.”
That’s damn good of Banks, whose brother said, “His life, as it was, is not going to be the same. His life is permanently messed up.”
Yes, it is. But you know whose life may not be permanently messed up? Gunderson’s. Because once she gets done serving five years of probation and 250 hours of community service (with patients of brain injuries), she can get back to doing whatever it was she was doing in the wee hours of the morning which prompted her to run away from the scene of her own crime.
Moral of the story: Turning oneself in for a hit-and-run can bring about forgiveness. Try it, person who knows this is directed at them.
THAT’s IT???????????????? 5 years of probation and 250 hours of community service????????????? I know people that got more for stealing a tv. I hope she is ashamed of herself. Vance definitely didn’t deserve this and now he has to spend his whole life recovering from a stupid decision? She should never get to drive again. Vance Banks is an admirable individual.
