This Story Is About Horny Runaway Pigs And The Family That Desperately Wants Them Back

This story from Australia is headlined “Naughty pet porkers hit the frog and toad.” That’s why it caught my attention while leafing through the hit-and-runs from recent days past. I love the pictures. In fact, they’re the only reason why I’m posting this in the first place. But if you must know more, here:

THREE naughty pet piggies that trotted across a Darwin golf course during a police chase have risked rump and whisker on their first big adventure.

Council dog catchers tried to capture the renegade bacon last night.

Owner Vivienne White said authorities needed only yell “piggy” while armed with cheeseburgers to bring them in.

She said the 11-month-old escapees, from Minmarama Community, were raised on Maccas, ice cream and dog food.

Wish I was raised on Maccas and ice cream. Oh, no I don’t. I’m trying to make light of what’s become a public-safety issue…

The rogue boars have posed a traffic risk and left their mark on the RAAF golf links, across from McDonald’s on Bagot Rd, while on the loose.

By mark, I suppose they mean poo and, well, judging by that top picture, other things.

Oh, there’s a reason why this came up in my hit-and-run search, too. A tragic reason.

Tragedy struck when Wiggy was killed in a “hit-and-run” on Dick Ward Drive just before Christmas.

Ms White adopted her from Fogg Dam as a baby.

“I’d never seen a wild animal get so tame,” she said.

“She loved me, she would snuggle up on my shoulder and go to sleep.

“That mother one got so spoilt she knew how to open the fridge.”

Ms White said the piggies wouldn’t survive on their own in the wild and would probably be eaten by crocs.

“They don’t know about the dangers,” she said.

“If anyone else catches them I would like them back.”

So, pour one out for Wiggy, people. It’s the least you can do for his (or her) loving family.
