On Wednesday, I headed up to Danny Garcia’s gym in lower Northeast Philly for a media day in advance of his, and fellow Philly pugilist Steve Cunningham’s, upcoming fights.
I’d been trying to do a Cunningham story for months, what with his daughter Kennedy’s long wait to get a heart transplant to address congenial issues involving the one with which she was born.
Suffice it to say, I couldn’t avoid focusing my media-day story on Kennedy, since she had gotten her new heart and was bounding about the gym without a care in the world.
And, dear Lord, Kim Paynter shot a photo there that tells a hell of a lot of the story about a father’s love for his child.
