Wrong-number voicemail: Desiree broke elementary school rules today

I was down the basement when the home phone rang, so I didn’t pick up. Thank you Jesus that I didn’t. Identifying characteristics changed. Ain’t right to fink on elementary-school kids.

Hi, Miss Archer, this is Mrs. Phillips calling from [a not-too-far-away elementary school]. Um, I wanted to share with you an incident that happened today in school with Desiree. I’m going to see if I can find another number to reach you on.

And with that, she hung up, leaving so many questions. Her tone was firm, but not aggressive. But, she was going to track the girl’s mother down come hell or high water.

What, oh what, did Desiree do?

I’m betting she push someone either physically or verbally. But with the kids these days, I’d pretty much commit to a physical offense, not a major one. Enough for concern, but no police intervention.
