You know, it takes a lot to get me queasy. But that I got whilst watching Entertainment Tonight (don’t ask) last evening. Here was a real housewife from New Jersey (Old Bridge, to be precise) staking her claim the record book while trying to eat her way from 600 pounds up to a half-ton. What bothered me most? Not this picture …

Mmm, half-ton eggs
… being posted while the narrator says, “The world’s fattest mom served breakfast in bed.” (Says ET’s website, “The meal prepared by Donna’s boyfriend Philip, daughter Jacqueline and son Devin includes 10 eggs, eight turkey sausage patties, and four pieces of toast, as well as a special card.”)
Or this picture that forever changed the image of roast beef …

Meat
Nope, what troubled me most is that during the exploitative interviews that Mary Hart’s show conducted, Donna Simpson sounded remarkably sane, even as she explained that she was actually health-conscious about what she was putting in her Mrs. Grape-esque belly. I need a while with this one, but program your DVR for 7 p.m. so you can see her Mother’s Day breakfast in bed.
Godspeed, Donna.
