When The Quizzo Crowd At Billy Murphy’s Irish Saloonery Feels Like Family

Every other Tuesday night, I host Quizzo at Billy Murphy’s Irish Saloonery in East Falls (Philadelphia). The week before the Super Bowl, I wore my trusty Elway jersey. One of my questions was “How many points will the Denver Broncos win on Sunday?”

The correct answer was any number greater than 9.

Obviously, that correct answer was anything but.

So anyway, we have a good crowd at these Quizzo nights. A lot of regulars. Cozy. Familiar.

I talk a lot of smack, too. Sometimes, this manifests itself in teams naming themselves with words that are awkward to say aloud. Likening the microphone to genitalia, for instance.

Super Bowl Week, one of those teams dubbed itself “I Hate John Elway.” I don’t. But I had to say that aloud numerous times. Awk. Ward.

Lo and behold, IHJE team member Lizzie had knitted (crocheted) a Broncos-themed winter hat and beer coozie that was awaiting my arrival this week.

It was nice.

It was appreciated.

So that’s why I’m posting a photo of said items here today.
