A late update: Councilman Curtis Jones and Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds-Brown called on City Council to call for a moratorium on hydraulic fractured — aka “fracking” — until a comprehensive study on the environmental ramifications can be studied.
There’s an EPA study currently underway looking into it that won’t be done until late 2012. State Rep. Tony Payton plans to introduce legislation calling for a 3-year moratorium.
