Sometime in the past week, a cretin stole a soccer goal belonging to Soccer Sisters United, an U-12 girls program that plays its home games in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.
“That’s a lot for us, as it’s way more than what bring in from the kids each season,” Head Coach Walter Stewart said. “Our finances are pretty hit or miss. We can be good for a while and then we run out of money again.
“I’ve been pretty conservative about spending money, but now that we’ve lost the goal, I will need to figure out what to do about that.”
Horrible. And pointless.
Thankfully, after a story about said theft ran on NewsWorks this morning, people are already working to raise money to replace the item that costs upwards of $1,000. Chip in, if you can!
