Update: The FOP has just offered a $10K reward for information leading to the arrest of the hit-and-run driver who struck Officer Michael Brady.
Philadelphia Police are seeking information about a 2 a.m. incident in which a 28-year-old off-duty officer was struck by what’s believed to be a 2010 Taurus or Lincoln MKS which fled the scene in Fishtown/Kensington (2300 block of E. Cumberland, to be exact).
He’s hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
The driver has not yet been found, which is why police released that video and this press-release about the incident:
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Accident Investigation Division is seeking to identify the suspect or the whereabouts of the striking vehicle who hit an off-duty police officer in Fishtown.
On Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at approximately 2:07 AM, an off-duty police officer (28 year old male) was walking on the 2300 block of East Cumberland Street when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle is believed to be a black or dark colored 2010 Ford Taurus. The vehicle is missing the passenger side windshield wiper arm. The vehicle may have minor damage to the passenger side windshield and possibly a dented hood. The vehicle was last seen traveling east on Cumberland Street towards Aramingo Avenue. The victim was transported to Hahnemann Hospital in critical but stable condition with a deep laceration to his head.
Vehicle Description: The vehicle is believed to be a black or dark colored 2010 Ford Taurus and may have minor damage to the passenger side windshield and possibly a dented hood. UPDATE: “The vehicle is believed to be a black or dark colored newer model 4 door Lincoln MKS.” (The description varied in press releases on Wednesday).
