17100. BENTON TWP., MI – A mid-Michigan man has been hospitalized with serious injuries after he was struck by a passing car on the freeway early Friday while pulled over and out of his vehicle to check his trailer.
17101. SALEM, Ore. — Friends and family of a Salem chef are searching for answers after a hit-and-run crash left him hospitalized with serious injuries. The Salem Police Department said a vehicle struck 46-year-old Luke Hargrove on Edgewater Street Northwest at Kingwood Avenue about 10:33 p.m. on Sept. 18. The driver left the scene.
17102. A man was struck by a vehicle Friday night in Fresno’s Tower District after allegedly leaving a restaurant without paying.
17103. Rochester, N.Y. — Police are looking for a driver they said struck a woman with an SUV during an argument before fleeing the scene.

A 38-year-old man died from his injuries after he was struck in a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of South Main Street and East Miller Avenue Sept. 26 around 10:22 p.m. The man was identified as Jesse McCool, and he died Sept. 27 at approximately 9:43 p.m., according to a news release from Lt. Michael Murphy, Akron Police Department public information officer.
17105. Hyde Park residents painted a crosswalk on city streets Sunday in protest of a deadly Los Angeles intersection where a hit-and-run driver killed a 16-year-old boy and seriously injured his 13-year-old sister on Sept. 22.

17107. AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – Akron police are asking for help finding a hit-and-run driver who killed a pedestrian. Police say Jesse McCool, 38, was crossing South Main Street near East Miller Avenue Saturday night when a black SUV hit him and kept driving.
17108. A woman suffered critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle in an alleyway west of downtown, according to San Antonio police.
17109. “I have no words, honestly. I try not to think about it because it brings a lot of hatred in my heart… on how someone could do that and just leave anybody, just there to die,” said Paola Padilla, the victim’s granddaughter.
17110. Detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash in Long Beach that killed a pedestrian on Friday evening, officials said. Officers responded to the collision at Baltic Avenue and Burnett Street around 7:20 p.m., according to the Long Beach Police Department.

17117. St. Petersburg police released surveillance video Monday showing the Mercedes SUV they are searching for after a hit-and-run crash killed a 65-year-old Pinellas Park motorcyclist early Sunday.

17119. DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – The Des Moines Police Department announced Tuesday that it’s made a breakthrough in a vehicular homicide cold case. On September 29th, 1997, 64-year-old Leslie Ruby was killed outside his east side home by a hit-and-run driver.
