515. Chicago. June 11. 24-year-old man struck and killed by a vehicle “described as a red or burgundy Chevrolet conversion van with a gray stripe across the side panels” which didn’t stop at the scene.
516. Winston-Salem, NC. June 11. 57-year-old man in a wheelchair struck and killed by “a silver-colored Chevrolet [that] stopped briefly before continuing onto the highway.”
517. Wilmington, Del. June 11. Woman and 8-year-old daughter injured when their vehicle was struck by a vehicle from which the driver emerged, “said that his name was Dominic Reynolds and he lived in Newport. He then allegedly drove off at a high speed. … Police say the man’s name is Todd Reynolds and that he has a suspended license. They have warrants charging him with criminal impersonation and other traffic offenses. Authorities say he has a large Superman tattoo on his left chest.”
518. Greenacres, Fla. June 12. Unidentified woman seriously injured after being “struck by a gold or blue Chevrolet” which fled the scene.
519. Philadelphia. May 13. Man in his 30s critically injured when struck by a vehicle and thrown through a grocery-store-front window. Car and driver, unlicensed and allegedly intoxicated, found shortly thereafter.

An Auburn (Maine) man made his first court appearance Friday in connection with a hit-and-run incident that prosecutors say was intentional and connected to a fatal accident four years ago in Lewiston.

Recommendation:
I urge all of you to check this NPR report on traumatic brain injuries out. I know I didn’t understand the depth of the issue until my brain almost exploded inside my skull, so I can’t imagine very many people out there do.
