Police said Saturday that they are looking for a white, four-door 2011 Nissan Maxima with Maryland tags. They say a car fitting that description struck Lisa Radogno May 8 as she crossed the street at East Capitol Street at 17th Street in Southeast Washington, near Eastern High School.
The driver didn’t stop, though Radogno suffered injuries to her wrist and knee. Radogno had returned to work in Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk’s Capitol Hill office when she suffered a pulmonary embolism last Wednesday.

Two years have passed since a motorcyclist was killed in a Dyer hit-and-run, but police say they’re not giving up on the case.
Dyer and Lake County police have followed up on every lead they’ve gotten and ruled all of them out, Dyer police Detective Cpl. Mike Wenglarz said.
Police are hoping someone with information might now be willing to come forward, Wenglarz said.

Police say 40-year-old Myree Townsend will be booked into the Washoe County Jail on a felony charge of hit and run causing substantial bodily injury.
Officers say Gabriel Kennedy was hit while skateboarding across Wilbur May Parkway, near the Center Creek Park on May 8th.
Kennedy suffered bone fractures from his clavicle to his ankle. Damage to his right leg was so severe that doctors had to remove it. He also suffered a brain hemorrhage and a collapsed lung.

A Broken Arrow man facing felony hit and run charges is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.
Jordan Hunter faces hit and run charges for an incident that left a Broken Arrow cross-country runner in critical condition. Records indicate that he is to appear before a Tulsa County judge for arraignment Wednesday.
Recent reports from KTUL state that Hunter has been arrested a total three times for incidents that took place in Broken Arrow, including the hit and run. On Tuesday, officers placed him under arrest after he was seen driving without an interlock device, which requires the driver of a vehicle to breathe into an apparatus before the engine will start.

TALLAHASSEE — Governor Rick Scott signed a bill into law this week that increases the penalties for drivers who leave the scene of a deadly crash.
The “Aaron Cohen Life Protection Act” is named in honor of a cyclist who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Miami a few years ago. That driver served less than two years in prison.
Under the new law, the minimum mandatory sentence will now be four years, the same as for DUI manslaughter.
