5527. Baltimore, Md. Aug. 20. 45-year-old man fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene; driver later caught.

5528-29. Camden, NJ. Aug. 20. Two pedestrians injured when struck by a vehicle which fled the scene; driver later shot when he tried to hit police.

5530. Honolulu, Hi. Aug. 20. 89-year-old woman fatally struck by a black Enduro-style motorcycle which fled the scene.

5531. Bristol Twp., Pa. Aug. 21. 16-year-old boy suffers minor injuries when struck by a white car which fled the scene.

5532. Amarillo, Texas. Aug. 21. 50-year-old man on bicycle injured struck by a white passenger car which fled the scene.

5533-34. Baltimore Co., Md. Aug. 22. 35-year-old and 40-year-old bicyclists injured when struck by a Toyota Corolla which fled the scene.

5535. Chula Vista, Cal. Aug. 23. Man critically injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

5536. Durham, NC. Aug. 24. 50-year-old woman injured when struck by a white vehicle which fled the scene.

5537-38. South Bend, Ind. Aug. 24. 53-year-old man killed and 56-year-old woman injured when their moped was struck by a red F-150 truck which fled the scene.

5539. Cheektowaga, NY. Aug. 24. Man fatally struck by a vehicle which fled the scene; driver later arrested.

5540. Denver, Colo. Aug. 23. Pedestrian injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

And I quote (I)…

Police have released a surveillance photo from a hit-and-run crash that killed a man in a wheelchair in Fullerton.

Marc Borgfield, 49, of Buena Park, was struck around 11:58 p.m. Monday on the 2600 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue.

Police say the victim appeared to have been outside a crosswalk when he was hit. His wheelchair ended up in the middle of the street, and his body was thrown about 150 feet from the impact site.

Detectives say the suspect may have been driving a 1991-1994 White Ford Explorer with front-end damage.

DENVER – Denver police quickly identified a suspected hit-and-run driver accused of seriously injuring a pedestrian crossing Federal Boulevard last weekend thanks to witnesses who chased and snapped photos of the fleeing car.

Police arrested 24-year-old Amanda Ann Suhr on Sunday — the day after the hit and run. She’s charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury, failure to report an accident, driving without a license and having no proof of insurance.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) — The woman who was involved in a hit-and-run in a Bryant Target parking lot has reportedly died. The Bryant Police Dept. said the charges against the suspect will be upgraded.

Heather Baker, 20, was airlifted to a Little Rock hospital after she was struck by a truck allegedly driven by 39-year-old Marcus Dorsey, who was arrested minutes later.

State Police investigators say a Chalmette man suspected of being intoxicated was driving more than 100 miles per hour just before he smashed into the back of a dump truck on Interstate 10 in Metairie, critically injuring his passenger early Thursday morning.

Christopher Ballard, 32, then jumped out of his car, left behind the passenger and jogged more than 2 miles along the interstate in an attempt to escape authorities, according to an arrest report.

Ballard’s passenger, a 45-year-old man, suffered severe head injuries and was taken to Interim LSU Hospital in New Orleans were he was still in critical condition as of Friday, said Trooper Melissa Matey, spokeswoman for the State Police.

CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina State High Patrol investigators still have no witnesses to a crash that killed two bicyclists just outside Chapel Hill in 2013.
On Sept. 19, 2013, at 11:38 p.m. Ivin Levand Scurlock, 41, of Carrboro and Alexandria Nicole Simou, 40, of Chapel Hill were riding their bikes southbound on U.S. 15-501 when they were struck from behind by an unknown vehicle.
Both were thrown from their bikes and were thrown into the southbound lane of traffic. The driver of the vehicle that struck them fled the scene. Scurlock died on scene and Simou later died at UNC Hospital.

And I quote (VI)…

GRAND PRAIRE (CBSDFW.COM) – A former Grand Prairie school teacher was sentenced to ten years in prison for the hit-and-run death of a six-year-old boy. Tammy Lowe received an eight year sentence for Manslaughter and a ten year sentence for Failing to Stop and Render Aid in the death of John Paul Raidy, also of Grand Prairie.

The sentences will be serve simultaneously. Lowe’s combined sentences add up to ten years in prison.

“Someone’s still out there who did this to somebody, like, changed her life forever and then we don’t even know who,” said Alicia’s sister, Ashley Brainer.
