5912. Fort Wayne, Ind. Nov. 19. 25-year-old woman fatally struck by a red or brown in color, possibly a small truck, station wagon or SUV crossover, which fled the scene.
5913. Brooklyn Center, Minn. Nov. 18. Pedestrian fatally struck by a dark-colored sedan and red SUV which fled the scene.
5914. Brooklyn, NY. Nov. 17. 34-year-old man fatally struck by a light four-door sedan which fled the scene.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) — It’s a disturbing trend on valley roads. Las Vegas police say the number of hit-and-run crashes is way up, with roughly 2,000 already this year.
“They could have just stopped the car to see if she was ok,” Tanya Shetayh said in a message to the driver who killed her friend, Star Walters, in a hit-and-run crash over the weekend.
Walters was riding her bike on Charleston Boulevard near Nellis when she was hit and the driver took off.
“You don’t hear about a lot of people getting away with that,” Shetayh said. “Whoever this is it’s going to catch up to them.”
Walters’ death is part of a disturbing increase of hit and runs on valley roads. This year, Las Vegas police report more than 1,900 hit and runs so far compared to about 1,500 total last year.

HYDE PARK, SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Police released new surveillance video pertaining to a deadly hit-and-run crash that left the mother of a Los Angeles Police Department officer dead in Hyde Park last month.
Diane Dupree was killed Oct. 10 near Crenshaw Boulevard and 63rd Street.
The surveillance footage shows the suspect’s car, which is believed to be a 1980s or early 1990s model Honda or Toyota.

RIVERSIDE – A drunken driver was charged with striking a 10-year-old girl with her vehicle as the girl was crossing a street Thursday in Riverside, police said.

KEARNS, Utah – Ten days after a hit-and-run crash that left a skateboarder in critical condition, police have arrested the man believed to be responsible.
Police said 21-year-old Justin Manual Armendariz was skateboarding north on 400 West earlier this month when he was struck by a vehicle, which left the scene.
Friday, West Valley City police announced they had arrested Joseph Crecencio Granados, 34, and booked him into jail on charges that include felony hit and run, felony DUI and reckless driving.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A sorority, and a campus, is heartbroken after two students were killed in a hit-and-run crash. Two more University of New Mexico students are still fighting for their lives. Meanwhile, two people are in jail accused of running from that wreck and fighting police.
It was a day these students could have never imagined, having to say one final goodbye to someone so young.
“You could tell that she was like a big sister to many of them,” Dean of Students Tomás Aguire said.
They are saying goodbye to Briana Hillard, a UNM nursing student and Pi Beta Phi sister.
“It’s just a tragedy, it really is,” Aguire said. “It breaks your heart.”
The car Hillard and three other students were riding in last night is now a pile of twisted metal.
Police say 21-year-old Joshua Leal was behind the wheel of a stolen pickup speeding up Rio Grande when he hit and flipped the car those students were in just outside Hotel Albuquerque.
