5629. Washington, D.C. Sept. 14. Man fatally struck by a dark four-door Chrysler sedan which fled the scene.
5630-31. Sparks, Nev. Sept. 13. Man injured and woman critically injured after being struck by a silver or gray 1990s General Motors sedan, possibly a Pontiac Bonneville, which fled the scene.
5632-33. Wilmington, Del. Sept. 14. 13- and 16-year-old boys critically injured when struck by an SUV which fled the scene.
5634. Corona, Cal. Sept. 13. 16-year-old male injured when struck by a black car which fled the scene.
5635. Clearwater, Kan. Sept. 14. Man fatally struck by a dark red 2007 to 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe sport utility vehicle which fled the scene.
5636. Brooklyn, NY. Sept. 14. 26-year-old woman injured when struck by a dark four-door sedan which fled the scene.
5637-38. East New York, NY. Sept. 13. Two pedestrians injured — one loses both legs — after being struck by an SUV which fled the scene.
5639. Huntsville, Ala. Sept. 14. 8-year-old boy fatally struck by a vehicle which fled the scene; driver later arrested.
5640. Lafayette, La. Sept. 13. 17-year-old man critically injured when struck by a which fled the scene.
5641. Myrtle Beach, SC. Sept. 15. 47-year-old man fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
5642. Yuma, Ariz. Sept. 13. 32-year-old man on bicycle injured when struck by a Buick Century between the model years of 1991 to 1996 which fled the scene. Update: Driver surrenders.
5643. Gary, Ind. Sept. 17. 27-year-old woman fatally struck by a vehicle which fled the scene; drunken driver later found.
5644. Starke Co., Ind. Sept. 16. 33-year-old man fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
5645. Lamar Co., Miss. Sept. 16. 17-year-old male injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

Rochester, N.Y. – The victim of a hit and run over the summer on Clifford Avenue is now recovering at home.
Mary Moore, 41, a mother of five and nursing assistant was on her bicycle when a vehicle hit her from behind and dragged her more than 100 ft.
Police said the driver Keara Baker, 32, backed up and got out of the vehicle to move the bike out of the street. Baker then ran over Moore a second time.
Surveillance cameras in the area caught the entire incident on camera.

COLUMBIA, SC — Officials with the Columbia Police Department are hoping an upcoming anniversary of a hit-and-run incident in front of an area hospital will bring new information to the now two-year-old case.
In a statement released Monday, Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said investigators continue to seek the public’s help with information on the incident involving cardiac nurse Lindsay Bires.
On Sept. 16, 2012, Bires was standing on the sidewalk in front of Palmetto Health Richland where she worked when a white, compact car hit Bires. According to witnesses, the car ran off the side of the road at least twice before making impact with Bires. The driver did not stop to render aid.
After the incident, those same witnesses ran to help Bires and were able to get medical personnel quickly to the scene.
Bires was seriously injured in the incident and continues to recuperate, Holbrook said.
A $25,000 reward is still being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects, Holbrook said.

Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office is searching for another man in connection with the hit-and-run death of a 22-year-old woman earlier this month.
Police say Marvin Kentral Collins, 33, of Little Rock, is suspected of being a passenger in the vehicle that struck and killed Heather Cater on September 3 in a shopping center parking lot on University Avenue.
Deonte Jones was arrested September 4. Police say he was the driver of the vehicle that struck Cater. According to PCSO Spokesman Lt. Carl Minden, the hit and run occurred while Jones was attempting to flee from a police drug bust.

Police arrested a 47-woman in connection with a hit-and-run accident that killed a 58-year-old pedestrian near the Waianae Taco Bell early Tuesday morning.

Prosecutors say Patrick Ramirez is responsible for killing his good friend because he was driving drunk. Defense attorneys say the victim, Shane Stewart, caused his own death by foolishly trying to jump onto a moving pickup truck.
Both sides, however, agree on one thing: a night of heavy drinking between friends ended tragically on Sept. 8, 2013 in the parking lot of the McDonald’s on Kidder Street in Wilkes-Barre.
