5557. Chicago, Ill. Aug. 30. 50-year-old man fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
5558. Columbus, Ohio. Aug. 29. 49-year-old man critically injured when struck by a gray or silver SUV which fled the scene.
5559. Rainier, Oreg. Aug. 30. Bicyclist fatally struck by a pickup truck which fled the scene.

HALFWAY — Maryland State Police found the driver wanted in a Saturday hit-and-run in West Virginia that resulted in three people being taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to a news release from Maryland State Police.
The three injured include a 4-month-old child, the release said.

With the help of a Salem traffic camera, police tracked down and arrested the driver in a hit-and-run crash that injured a bicyclist Friday evening.

Among other things, a Clarke County Superior Court judge recently denied William Wilson Heaton Jr.’s motion to suppress what police found in his pickup truck that they say struck Emily Bowman in February 2013 as she walked next to Oak Street.
The collision caused severe brain damage and other injuries to the 21-year-old woman, who only now is being weened off a feeding tube and is learning to walk again.
Heaton, 24, was indicted on six counts of serious injury by vehicle and single counts of DUI, leaving the scene of a serious injury accident, failure to report an accident involving serious injuries, reckless driving and other offenses.
