4828. Westbrook, Maine. March 2. Woman injured when struck by a gray SUV which fled the scene.
4829. Antioch, Cal. March 3. 48-year-old man injured when struck by a silver minivan which fled the scene.
4830. St. Petersburg, Fla. March 2. 24-year-old man fatally struck by a black Chevy Impala which fled the scene.
4831. West Norriton, Pa. March 4. 52-year-old man critically injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
4832. Ocean Twp., NJ. Feb. 24. 81-year-old man injured when struck by a BMW which fled the scene.

Chilling surveillance video shows a teen girl being struck by two cars after she darted into traffic in Southern California, and then lying injured in the road after the drivers took off.
One of the drivers was arrested shortly after Monday’s accident in Santa Ana, but authorities were still hunting for the other, a woman driving a dark Cadillac.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — IMPD detectives say the 7-month-old baby boy killed in Tuesday’s late night hit-and-run was not buckled into his car seat.
“It appears the car seat was not fastened inside the car and the child was not securely fastened inside that car seat,” said IMPD Lt. Chris Bailey.
Police say they are looking for two people who ran from the scene of the crash that killed the baby.

The body of Roy Joseph, 41, was found in a grassy area on the north side of Olive, near Highway 141. A recent snow had covered a sidewalk that morning. Joseph was walking home when he was struck.
Joseph was the second person in a week to be killed in a hit-and-run accident. Police believe Joe Auffenberg was killed when a minivan hit him in the 400 block of North Kirkwood Road, just south of Bodley Avenue around 11:15pm February 9.

Philip Wood, 22, was walking along northbound MoPac near Windsor Lane in Central Austin around 2:20 am when witnesses say someone driving a small late 90s model pickup truck hit him and then sped away. Wood was pronounced dead at the scene.
A representative with the University of Texas athletics department says Wood was a distance runner on the Texas track and field team from the 2009-10 and 2011-12 seasons.

BROOKLYN – A $12,000 reward is now being offered in the search for an ATV hit-and-run driver who struck a police officer.

NEW ORLEANS — Police are still searching for a driver who hit and killed a young skateboarder in New Orleans East before leaving the scene.
Clifton Drummer’s family held a vigil Wednesday night to remember the 21-year-old. They’re hoping someone can help catch the reckless driver.
“It’s really sad, and it’s really heartbreaking to know that people would just leave him laying there in the dark to die,” said Angie Wright of her son’s sudden death.
The heartbreak is somewhat surreal as family and friends of Clifton Drummer IV met to mourn the young life lost.
“We will leave no stone unturned, we will not be quiet,” said his godmother to the crowd.

A 53-year-old Jacksonville man who drove away after hitting a 3-year-old girl with his car in July entered a guilty plea Wednesday and was sentenced to eight years in prison, according to the State Attorney’s Office.

Linda Ibrahim, 28, of Cornwall, was in Orange County Court Wednesday for a conference on charges including second-degree manslaughter and vehicular manslaughter in the hit-and-run death of Eric Geter.
More than a dozen members of Geter’s family were in court to watch. They vowed last month at Ibrahim’s arraignment to attend all court proceedings as a show of their love and support for his memory.
Although Geter’s family had been upset after the arraignment that Ibrahim remained free on bond, they remained calm and composed Wednesday. The proceeding was brief.
After court, in the courthouse hallway, Ibrahim handed the short written statement to a reporter.

“My lawyer has advised me not to speak of this case, however, I would like to send my heartfelt condolences out to — not only the entire Geter family — but to every single person who has been touched by Eric’s life “» especially his son.”

TALLAHASSEE, FL, (WTXL) — Almost a month after Twayla Ragin was killed in a hit and run accident, police said they are still looking for the person who killed her.

NASHUA – A 39-year-old Nashua woman has been charged with conduct after an accident in connection with the Feb. 23 death of a homeless man who was hit and killed on West Hollis Street.
Cara Smith, 39, of 6 Satin Ave., turned herself into Nashua police Thursday afternoon after a warrant was issued for her arrest.
After the crash, which occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Feb. 23, detectives said a dark-colored sport utility vehicle was identified through surveillance footage. An anonymous tip linked Smith to the vehicle.

Sixteen-year-old Devaughn Moore was making his way home after filling out a job application to work in a coffee shop at Erie County Medical Center when a car struck him on Main Street in the Parkside neighborhood.
The driver sped away, leaving Devaughn crumpled on the road with a critical head injury. Tuesday, nearly five weeks later, he was released from Women & Children’s Hospital and is now learning how to walk again.
Wednesday, Buffalo city accident investigators arrested Kevin A. Ford, a 23-year-old city garbage collector on disability, and charged him with leaving the scene of a serious physical injury accident and falsely reporting the car involved in the accident as having been stolen.
