According to the Manor Police Department, Thomas Bernal faces charges of manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid in the death of Devon Sanders. WILLIAMSBURG — A hit-run driver was arrested Tuesday four months after fatally mowing down a cyclist in the Grand Street bike lane, according to police and prosecutors.
Juan Maldonado, 56, a delivery driver for Certified Lumber from South Williamsburg was arrested Tuesday morning at his home in South Williamsburg for the death of cyclist Matthew Von Ohlen, 35, who was killed July 2 near the intersection of Grand Street between Manhattan and Graham Avenues in Williamsburg.

A 30-year-old Milwaukee man told detectives he was driving when a girl darted out in front of him and he crashed into her, panicked and fled the scene, according to a criminal complaint released Tuesday.
Sherman Liddell was charged with hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license, both causing death, in the crash that killed 5-year-old Rickyia Langham.

Almost three months after Francisco “Frank” Cruz, 58, was fatally struck on his bicycle by a hit-and-run van driver in West Garfield Park, police still haven’t made an arrest. SANTA ANA – A 36-year-old woman has been sentenced to six years in prison for a hit-and-run crash in Santa Ana that killed a high school band teacher.
Tracy Clapp of Santa Ana pleaded guilty this week to 11 felony counts linked to an April 20 crash that stuck Christopher Chavez, 26, as he strolled in a crosswalk at Bristol Street and Central Avenue around 2:15 a.m., according to court records.

Police caught up with the suspect in a driveway about a mile away near St. Elm Street and CR 512.
Investigators found Flores-Paredes with pieces of windshield glass in his hair and on his clothing. He told police he knew he hit someone but took off because he didn’t know if they were dead or alive.
