Barrett’s grandmother, Marie Hinson, testified that Barrett, who lived with her, used her late husband’s truck to go out that evening. She said she sent her a text asking her to come home around 6 p.m. because her two sons were getting rowdy.
Hinson said she “blasted” her granddaughter when she finally came home between 11 and 11:30 p.m. Barrett then went outside and left the house in the truck, she said.

MILFORD, CT — Amanda Keane was leaving her job at the Milford Bridge House Restaurant late Sunday when she was struck a by a hit-and-run driver who is still has not been identified.
On Monday, Milford police described Keane’s injuries as potentially life-threatening. Friends and family members of Keane, who lives in Stratford, have established a GoFundMe campaign to assist her and her likely to be significant medical expenses.
A goal of $100,000 has been set and in 15 hours already $2,600 has been raised.

AURORA | A hit-and-run driver fleeing a crash slammed into a day care center Wednesday afternoon, sending three people — including two children in the center — to the hospital.
The driver, whose name has not been released, was likely on drugs at the time of the crash, and police said the driver will face several charges, including hit and run, vehicular eluding, reckless driving, and driving under the influence.

A 36-year-old Benton man was spared prison time Thursday for killing a developmentally disabled Little Rock pedestrian in a hit-and-run collision in 2015.
A Pulaski County jury imposed a $6,000 fine instead of more severe penalties.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) – It has been one year since a young woman walking on Holly Road was struck and killed as a result of a hit-and-run driver. In fact, police believe she was hit by two separate drivers. Neither one stopped to render aid.
