11337. A Spring Valley man sat behind bars Thursday for allegedly fleeing after the pickup truck he was driving struck and killed a young pedestrian in La Mesa.
11338. After arresting a driver accused in a hit-and-run crash that killed a University of Georgia student, Athens-Clarke County police have now charged the woman’s mother and stepfather with trying to cover it up.

11340. Police in Philadelphia are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred Sunday morning in Tioga-Nicetown. The accident was reported just after 2:00 a.m. along the 1900 block of Hunting Park Avenue. There, officials say a man was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street.
11341. A Florida woman who claimed she is Harry Potter struck and killed a federal judge visiting from New York and seriously injured a 6-year-old boy after swerving her car onto a sidewalk, officials said.
11342. A 63-year-old cyclist is dead after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Sunday night in Seattle.
11343. “The unfortunate thing is my brother doesn’t have medical insurance,” said Ken, “He had recently signed up for medical insurance, but we have learned his insurance doesn’t kick in until May 1, so we’re kind of at a loss with this.”
11344. “He was under the wheels and she dragged him,” Alessandro Accardo, his co-worker, said. “His head is on the ground and his face is all cut up and everything is really bad.”

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The man accused of hitting and killing a 22-year-old woman then fleeing the scene told police the sun was in his eyes and that he didn’t know what he had hit, according to an arrest report obtained by 8 News Now. Richard Modolo, 69, faces one count of felony duty to stop at the scene of an accident involving death.
11346. “These two girls are extremely lucky to be alive,” she said. “The driver still has not been located. With witnesses, and a description of the car, someone must know something… that could lead to an arrest. That terrible person needs to be held responsible!”

11348. According to the BPD, 24-year-old Edith Mata of Bakersfield was arrested for striking and killing a man who was riding his bicycle in the 1000 block of Kentucky Street back on September 7, 2019.
11349. Massachusetts State Police released images of a van that struck and severely injured a 72-year-old man Monday night in hopes they can receive help from the public in identifying the suspect in the hit-and-run crash.
11350. “How you going to hit somebody and just leave? You can’t just leave, you’ve got to pull over and make sure he – she is okay,” the eyewitness said to NBC10 Boston. “What if you hit your own family member? You’re not gonna stop over to check, you know what I’m saying? It’s common sense.”
11351. At that point the victim was still moving and can be heard in the video calling for help. The two were involved in a “brief conversation” before the driver got back into her vehicle and left the scene, according to the news release.
11352. “He’s an elderly man. He was walking with a cane. It was a pretty horrific scene,” detective Ryan Moreno said.
11353. According to GIPD, officers were called to the parking lot of U.S. Cellular on South Locust Street in reference to a 12-year-old boy being hit by a car while riding his scooter. They said the driver left the scene without providing any information or attempting to render aid.
