912. Philadelphia. Sept. 25. 2-year-old boy struck and killed, and his 20-year-old mother critically injured by a late model 4-door silver Mercedes CLS with 19-inch chrome wheels and low profile tires which took off leaving the child to die.
“He was like stopping and starting, I saw his brake lights, so I guess he was trying to decide should he stop or not and next thing I know, he turned around that corner,” the witness said.
913. Cedar Falls, Iowa. Sept. 24. Two pedestrians struck (one hospitalized) after being struck by a Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable which took off.
914. North Miami, Fla. Sept. 25. 59-year-old man on bicycle hospitalized after being struck by a black Ford Ranger which took off.

A bicyclist who suffered serious head injuries in an early morning crash on North Second Street in Harrisburg apparently struck a parked car, Harrisburg police said.
Initial reports indicated the 27-year-old man, whose name has not been released, may have been the victim of a hit-and-run crash, police said. Police found him around 2:30 a.m. unconscious in the right lane of the 1300 block of North Second Street.

More than a decade had passed since the hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of Alfred “Al” Lynch, and she thought police had given up searching for the person responsible for her husband’s death.
But thanks to advanced fingerprint technology, Boston authorities arrested a suspect, Jose Collazo Torres, 50, of the Jamaica Plain section of Boston. He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and causing personal injury resulting in death. He is being held at the Plymouth County jail.
“I had always prayed my husband would get justice,” said Lynch, of Brockton, who contacted The Enterprise on Thursday to talk about the case and express her gratitude to police.
