891. San Jose, Cal. Sept. 21. 25-year-old man on a bicycle fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
892. Portland, Oreg. Sept. 21. Two bicyclists hit by a silver Subaru WRX without a rear license plate which fled the scene. One hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
893. Charleston, WV. Sept. 21. 7-year-old boy injured after being struck by a green Dodge Stratus which fled the scene.
894. St. Louis, Mo. Sept. 21. 49-year-old woman suffers non life-threatening injuries when struck by an older model, two-door, teal Ford Escort which fled the scene.
895. Staunton, Va. Sept. 20. 48-year-old man who’d been arguing with the driver of a small, red car hit by the vehicle as it fled the scene.
896. Bethel, Ohio. Sept. 20. 66-year-old man on a bicycle struck and killed by a white car that fled with possible front end and windshield damage.
897. Van Buren, Ark. Sept. 21. 16-year-old girl injured after being struck by a which left the scene. Drunk driver caught a short time thereafter, denying she’d been involved in an accident.
898. Manchester, NH. Sept. 22. Toddler girl injured when struck by an older red four-door sedan with some rust and license plates starting with the numbers 268 which fled the scene.
899. Madera, Cal. Sept. 21. 3-year-old killed after being struck by a silver or gray Saturn SUV driven by a female, possibly in her 20’s which didn’t stay at the scene.
900. Vero Beach, Fla. Sept. 17. 71-year-old grandmother who had just left the Citrus Bowl after watching her grandchildren perform in the band at half time during a football game hospitalized in stable condition after being hit by an unidentified motorist driving either a Ford or Chevrolet truck that fled the scene.
901. Lakewood, NJ. Sept. 22. 28-year-old woman suffers non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by an unidentified car which fled the scene.
902. Ohatchee, Ala. Sept. 21. Police officer suffers non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by an unidentified vehicle.
903. Modesto, Cal. Sept. 21. 59-year-old woman struck and killed by a large and dark vehicle, possibly a pickup, which left the scene.
904. Euless, Texas. Sept. 22. Pedestrian struck and killed by a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee or similar style of SUV that didn’t remain at the scene (pictured).

Louisa, Va. — A 16-year-old fatal hit-and-run investigation, revived by Virginia State Police in July, has led to the arrest of a Louisa County man.

The Department of Public Safety has seized a vehicle last Thursday possibly used in a hit-and-run wreck that killed 13-year old Anthony Gillette. Despite finding the potential “smoking gun,” investigators have not yet arrested the driver.

A judge presiding over the trial of a Barren County woman charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a toddler will allow photos of the victim to be shown to jurors.
Lori Ikner, 38, of Glasgow, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without insurance.
Police allege that she drove a white van that struck and killed 23-month-old Shayla Wooten on Aug. 3, 2009, as Wooten followed her father across U.S. 68-Ky. 80 to his mailbox.
The van continued traveling west toward Bowling Green. Ikner was arrested five days later in Cave City by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office.

Crash investigators said they think Guy, who was convicted of DUI in 2001, drove the Nissan pickup truck Sept. 9 that struck Holmes near her Bell Road apartment complex. She died Sept. 11 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
According to police, the pickup truck’s passenger returned to the scene that night and told police he had told Guy to stop, but that Guy had refused. He also said that he and Guy had been drinking before the crash, police said.
Guy contacted police the day after the crash, police said.
Officers said they are investigating if Guy was texting at the time of the crash.

Mitchell Rebryna, the 22-year-old who pleaded guilty in connection with the 2008 hit-and-run death of 64-year-old Barry Grosse, has been sentenced to a 26-month penitentiary term.
And I quote (VI) …
At 6:23 a.m., rooftop surveillance cameras recorded an unidentified woman drive into the front parking lot of the company property, 1 Takeda Parkway, then get out of her car and then defecate and urinate on company property.
Two security guards who responded said they parked their vehicle behind the woman’s car, but that she put the car into reverse and struck their car before driving to the Lake-Cook Road exit.
