An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously.

1030. York, Pa. Oct. 29. Firefighter injured when vehicle struck by a stolen gray Hyundai with Pennsylvania registration of HLV 7496.

1031. Hillcrest, NY. Oct. 28. 52-year-old woman in a wheelchair injured after being struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

1032. Van Nuys, Ca. Oct. 30. 18-year-old man injured after being struck by a white Nissan Maxima or Infiniti four-door sedan which fled the scene.

1033. Peoria, Ariz. Oct. 29. See last video.

1034. Knoxville, Tenn. Oct. 29. 40-year-old man who stopped to help an injured owl suffered “major injuries” when struck by a dark colored Ford SUV with grill and front end damage which fled the scene. The owl survived.

Ryan James Bleckinger, 28, was arraigned Wednesday on second-degree assault, third-degree assault, driving under the influence of intoxicants, failure to perform the duties of a driver to injured persons, and reckless driving allegations stemming from the Tuesday evening crash.
Bleckinger told police he thought he had hit a bird. He also told officers he drank three to four straight shots of Vodka about two hours before the crash, and took 2.5 mg of Oxycontin about five hours earlier.

An alleged “inappropriate” kiss former [Trenton, NJ] police director Joe Santiago gave to a policewoman who ended up losing her job just cost city taxpayers $37,000.
City Council approved the settlement of a discrimination lawsuit filed by Kim Wallace, a patrol cop until February 2005, when she was charged with drunken driving after a hit-and-run accident.
