1432. El Paso, Texas. March 24. Unidentified man in his 40s struck and killed by a 2002-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche, Olympic White in color, with fled with damage to the left front and a broken fog light cover.
1433. La Plata, Md. 57-year-old man struck and killed by a yet-identified vehicle.
1434. Avondale, Ariz. March 25. Woman walking her dog suffers non-life-threatening injuries when struck by a white Toyota Corolla which fled the scene.
1435. Turtle Creek, Pa. March 25. 81-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1436. Baton Rouge, La. March 26. Man suffers life-threatening injuries when struck by an unidentified vehicle when he was getting out of his van which had stalled; it left the scene.
1437. Tullahoma, Tenn. March 25. 28-year-old woman struck and killed by a vehicle described by a man who was walking with her as a tan pickup, possibly a Ford, which fled the scene.
1438. Bellevue, Wash. March 25, 61-year-old woman was struck and killed by an older gray Buick which fled the scene. (UPDATE W/ARREST)
1439. North Patchogue, NY. March 25. 41-year-old woman on bicycle struck by a vehicle which fled but has since been located.
1440. Rockford, Ill. March 27. 13-year-old boy injured when struck by a four-door gray sedan, possibly a Cadillac, while was crossing the street to get his soccer ball. The driver fled the scene.
1441. Kansas City, Mo. March 26. 23-year-old woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries when was hit by a red pickup truck which fled the scene.
1442. Detroit, Mich. March 27. 22-year-old woman leaving nightclub struck and killed by an SUV which fled the scene.
1443. Live Oak, Cal. March 26. 37-year-old man killed when struck by a 2006 model dark or black Chrysler 300 sedan with chrome rims and a Latina driver who left the man to die.

According to OSP Trooper Micheal Pelkey, on March 18, 2011 at approximately 8:27 p.m. troopers were dispatched to a reported traffic crash on Franklin Boulevard at Interstate 5 involving a pickup that fled the scene. The other involved vehicle remained at the scene and a witness followed the suspect’s 1998 Ford F150 pickup to the SeQuential Biofuels parking lot on McVay Highway where Pelkey found it behind a service station. As Pelkey arrived at the parking lot, the suspect, later identified as GIOVANI RUDY LIMA, age 31, from Springfield, got out of the pickup and ran a short distance before stopping following Pelkey’s orders.

WATERFORD, Mich. (WJBK) – Waterford Police have located a car involved in a deadly hit and run on St. Patrick’s Day. They’ve also identified a person of interest and a person they believe helped try to cover up the crime. Garrett Gesch, 29, of Commerce Township was hit and killed. Police believe he was walking home so he wouldn’t be behind the wheel after a night of drinking.

Denver Collins is so grateful his son is still alive and is grateful that his boy will be able to raise his own boy, 5-month-old Cobi, but along with that gratitude is more than a little anger. “He was left for dead… they went looking for another drink,” Denver Collins said.

Authorities say two Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transporting a patient were injured when their ambulance was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Watts.
Police Sgt. Cy Feliciano tells the Los Angeles Times one paramedic was knocked unconscious and the other suffered an injury to his right shoulder in the accident Saturday night.
The driver of the other vehicle fled on foot and is being sought by police.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — A Grand Junction man is now behind bars for an alleged hit and run in the downtown area. According to his arrest affidavit, he asked someone to drive his car somewhere else. Police found the vehicle on North Avenue a few hours later. They found the car keys in a trash can at that apartment building.

MILWAUKEE — A hit-and-run driver suspected of drinking and driving was arrested Sunday morning after he climbed atop a passing vehicle on Interstate 43 at Bradley Road in an attempt to escape the crash scene. … A River Hills police officer stopped the SUV several miles down the interstate at Mequon Road and ordered the suspect off the vehicle at gunpoint.
