1366. Lindenhurst, NY. March 1. 41-year-old man seriously injured when struck by a light-colored four-door sedan that fled the scene.
1367. Vallejo, Cal. March 2. 63-year-old man fatally struck by an older model pickup truck which was found nearby, but abandoned.
1368. Lebanon, NH. March 2. A young woman told police she was leaving TJ Maxx when she was struck by a tan vehicle, possibly a Camry.
1369. Detroit. March 2. 57-year-old man killed and 42-year-old woman critically injured when struck by a light-colored, hatchback-type SUV which fled the scene.
1370. Beaumont, Texas. March 3. Man on bicycle suffers minor injuries after being struck by a black Ford Taurus which took off.

The arrest stems from a Dec. 4 incident, when police found a man dead in the middle of the road on the 800 block of Fourth Street. The man, Alberto Preciado, 69, of Hollister, was found suffering from massive head trauma around 8 p.m.

“Both of them basically said it was a stupid thing to do but they did it for fun,” Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson told the Daily Tribune.

Brittani Taylor-Yopp, 20, of Bluefield, was sentenced to the maximum penalty for voluntary manslaughter by Circuit Court Judge Omar Aboulhosn.
