1138. Wildomar, Cal. Dec. 7. 18-year-old bicyclist suffers minor injuries when struck by a white, full-sized truck which fled the scene.
1139. Gwinnett, Ga. Dec. 17. 17-year-old fatally struck by a tan or brown passenger car with the numbers “555″ on the license plate.
1140. District Heights, Md. Dec. 8. 28-year-old woman killed and 21-year-old man critically injured when being struck by a 1990 Honda Accord while walking home from the library. “They were crossing the street. It was a poorly lit area,” said Corporal Larry Johnson of Prince George’s County Police.
1141. Greensboro, NC. Dec. 8. Six-year-old boy injured when struck by a green colored, two-door vehicle which didn’t stop at the scene. “He was trying to cross the street and the car came and it flew, he hit the ground and the car kept running, going,” said Daishjia Griffin, a 10-year-old girl who said she saw it happen.

ATLANTIC BEACH – Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide investigators conceded Monday that they’re frustrated in the search for an SUV driver who struck a Navy helicopter pilot who died last week.
“Any hit-and-run case is frustrating simply because of the fact the person [driver] has left,” said Sheriff’s Office detective J.C. Hurst. “Their apparent lack of respect for life means we have to go through all this to determine who did that.”

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The person who hit and killed a teenager bicycling along a Holly Hill road is still on the run. The victim’s family wants that driver captured and they told WFTV how they’re trying to make Calle Grande Street safer.
“My feeling is I hate that this happened all the way around. I hate that it happened to our baby boy, and I hate that someone’s out there that killed somebody,” said Christina Robb, the victim’s mother.

BEIJING — A Chinese government official suspected of being drunk killed five teenagers while driving over the weekend, the latest deadly hit-and-run case involving a government official.

According to police, several witnesses in the area — many who worked at a nearby print shop –saw and heard the woman in a loud, passionate argument with a man in the parking lot of that address, which is a neighborhood market.
The man then got in his car and hit the woman with it, and dragged her between 50 to 75 feet as he drove off.
The story was initially reported as a hit-and-run, but Antioch police want to make it clear that this woman’s death was not an accident.

MINNEAPOLIS — A grandmother of 14 who was struck by a motorist who fled the scene as she crossed a Minneapolis street has died of her injuries.
Police say 70-year-old Mintrawati Dhannu was in the crosswalk at Lake Street and Blaisdell Avenue South on Nov. 23 when an SUV struck her and sped away.
