And I quote (III)…Juan Ricardo Hernandez-Campoceco admitted that he was drinking before he hit Elyse Mary Stern, 28, also of Minneapolis, shortly after 2 a.m. He pleaded guilty to a felony hit-and-run accident and fourth-degree driving while impaired, a misdemeanor.
A witness told police that he had been driving behind the woman on her bike on eastbound Lake Street when the light turned green. As the witness turned south on Cedar Avenue, he heard a loud noise. He turned around his car and saw a woman sprawled near the intersection, according to a complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court.
A man who said he fled an accident scene because he had “bad” Chinese food and didn’t want to poop in his pants was arrested on a misdemeanor charge, according to a recently released affidavit. …
“Baca reported he left briefly because he had ‘bad’ Chinese food and did not want to defecate in his pants,” an affidavit states. “Baca apologized for leaving, but believed he had no choice, as he was on the verge of defecating in his pants.”
Baca said he had no license, and apologized for driving without one.

Two Indiana County men fabricated a story about an armed carjacking to cover up a hit-and-run crash they were involved in, state police said.
Jakeb P. Schrecongost, 18, and Jessie J. Wood, 22, told police May 2 that they picked up a hitchhiker who forced them from their vehicle at gunpoint and stole the vehicle.
State police in Indiana said during their investigation, they located the crashed vehicle along State Route 422 near Route 119.
The men told state police they fabricated the armed robbery report to conceal their involvement in the hit-and-run.

A DOT employee who crushed a Manhattan pedestrian with a dump truck and left the scene was not charged with a crime, was cleared of all traffic violations, and remains on the payroll.
It is unknown whether Harry Robinson is still driving vehicles for DOT, as the agency would not discuss details of his employment due to a pending civil case.

A motorist who fatally struck an 81-year-old woman in National City and fled the scene was sentenced today to two years in prison.
Alejandro Hernandez Lomas, 44, had pleaded guilty to felony hit-and-run causing death.
The San Diego man surrendered to authorities about 17 hours after the Jan. 6 collision that took the life of Elena Huerta, according to National City police.
