3719. Milwaukee, Wisc. May 8. 27-year-old man injured when struck by a small dark-colored vehicle which fled the scene.

3720. Philadelphia, Pa. May 4. 5-year-old boy injured when struck by an illegal red-and-white dirtbike which fled the scene.

3721. Canton, Ct. May 10. Unidentified woman struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

3722. Red Bank, Tenn. May 10. Man on scooter injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

3723. Chesterfield Co., Va. May 11. 19-year-old woman fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

3724. Detroit, Mich. May 10. 6-year-old boy struck and killed by a van with a cab decal on its side which fled the scene.

SOUTHINGTON — Surveillance video from a local restaurant and a small piece of plastic from a broken headlight led police to charge a Plainville man in the February hit-and-run accident on Queen Street that killed a 23-year-old waitress and seriously injured two of her co-workers.

Edward Fascendini, 46, of 66 Whiting St., Apt. 1B, Plainville, was arraigned Thursday in Bristol Superior Court on charges of felony misconduct with a motor vehicle and three counts of evading responsibility. Fascendini was on parole at the time of the Feb. 12 accident and has been in custody as detectives investigated his potential involvement.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A former member of the Billionaire Boys Club who served jail time after being convicted of killing his father is wanted by authorities for a San Francisco hit-and-run accident that killed a pedestrian, prosecutors said Thursday.

Reza Eslaminia, 52, is wanted on misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in the death of Edmund Ralph Capalla, 39, said San Francisco District Attorney George Gascon.

Eslaminia was working as a cab driver for Luxor Cab when he allegedly ran a red light in the Tenderloin area Aug. 11, causing an accident in which his car spun out of control and hit Capalla while he was in a crosswalk, prosecutors said.

“This case illustrates the dangers in our streets when drivers don’t obey the rules of the road,” Gascon said.

SAGINAW, MI — Michigan State Police investigators said they located and impounded a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash and soon after received a call and confession from the driver after she discovered the car was missing.

A man who was seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood a year ago is on his way home to Georgia today after family and friends raised enough money to bring him back.

Selester “Les” Rowe, 63, was homeless when he was struck by an SUV on Columbus Avenue near Stockton and Green streets on May 12, 2012.

Rowe suffered major injuries in the collision, including a fractured spine, brain swelling and multiple broken bones, police and family members said.

More than $17,000 was raised in recent months to fly Rowe home on an air ambulance operated by Arizona-based Angel MedFlight, said Larry Anderson, who went to high school with Rowe and helped organize the fundraising effort.

North Olmsted Police Department today announced a suspect has turned himself in as the driver in a fatal hit-and-run accident on May 2. The body of North Olmsted High School sophomore Bruce Malik Adams was found late that night near the median of Brookpark Road.

In those moments of stillness, Tatyana’s family talks about one year ago, when she left her home and never returned. Two days later, on May 11, 2012, a passerby noticed a body in the ditch about 50 feet from the northbound lanes, between Main Street and Eaton Boulevard, that turned out to be Tatyana’s.

Her loved ones still don’t have answers about her death. What happened? How?

WAYNESVILLE, Mo. — On a winter’s night in late January 2010, Rhonda West was run over and killed near her hometown of Waynesville. She died on Missouri 17. On Thursday, West’s daughter, Renee West, sued the top brass in Waynesville’s Police Department. The lengthy document accuses them of a cover-up and hiding evidence from loved ones about the hit-and-run crash.

The lawsuit claims Waynesville Police Officer Gary Don Brankel struck and killed Rhonda West as he purportedly raced to the scene of a burglary. Brankal is called a ‘prime suspect’ in the allegations. It also states Waynesville’s dogcatcher knew what really happened.

BILOXI — Court papers in a DUI death case show investigators believe a drunken driver struck a pedestrian and changed seats with his wife before police stopped their vehicle minutes later.

A security officer at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino found surveillance pictures showing Shumarcus Taiwain Henderson Sr., his wife and another couple leaving the premises early March 16 with Henderson driving a white Cadillac Escalade two minutes before the pedestrian was struck, a Biloxi police investigator said in an affidavit.

Henderson’s wife was behind the wheel when police stopped them about nine miles away on Interstate 10, but a woman in the vehicle told investigators the couple had switched seats after noticing police were behind them, the investigator said.

David Honarka, 70, a retired robotics engineer from Tennessee, died when he was hit as he crossed U.S. 90 at Reynoir Street.

The 5-year-old girl suffered a traumatic brain injury and snapped all the tendons in her neck.

There were moments when Carlie’s parents didn’t think she’d make it.

“And now I just see the progress in her and it just gives me hope and joy you know?” her father said.

An appellate court has denied a Parsippany man’s attempt to lower his sentence for a hit-and-run crash that killed two brothers as they rode home from work on a bicycle together.

As reported by the Star-Ledger in 2009, Christopher Hoppe, 21, drove his 2004 Accura at nearly 70 mph on two-lane Knoll Road — where the speed limit is just 25 mph — in June of 2008, according to a state accident-reconstruction expert. His car crossed lanes, and struck and killed Carmelo Garcia Lopez, 19, and Ivan Canuto De La Cruz, 21, who were sharing a bicycle ride heading home from their jobs at Outback Steakhouse on Route 46.

Bridgeport police arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run that injured a 10-year-old boy on his way to school on Thursday morning.
