3676. Fort Worth, Texas. April 24. 14-year-old boy struck and killed by a truck or SUV which fled the scene.

3677. Farmingville, Ct. April 26. 14-year-old boy injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

3678. San Angelo, Texas. April 25. 22-year-old man injured when struck by a white or light Dodge Stratus which fled the scene.

3682. Denham Springs, La. April 24. 22-year-old man injured when struck by a white passenger vehicle or small SUV which fled the scene.

3687. Peabody, Mass. April 25. 75-year-old man injured when struck by a green Maxima which fled the scene.

MANCHESTER, Conn. (AP) — Manchester police say they arrested a man who allegedly struck two teenagers with his vehicle and taunted them as they lay wounded in the street.

Fifty-five-year-old Robert Tupper of Vernon was charged Thursday evening with reckless endangerment, evading responsibility and breach of peace.

Police say two boys ages 15 and 16 were struck while crossing the intersection of Cooper Hill Road and Fairfield Street shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday. Police say Tupper drove off, came back to taunt them and sped away again.

Police say a 23-year-old Greensboro woman has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash.

According to police, Breanna Marie Newkirk is charged with felony hit-and-run, misdemeanor hit-and-run and failure to report a traffic crash in the collision that killed 39-year-old Calvin Gerome Hendrix.

Police say Hendrix died several days after he was struck while walking on High Point Road near West Court Street shortly before 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 13.

On Wednesday, all coffee drink sales at Caffe Vita on Fourth Avenue in downtown Olympia will be donated to Siobhan Flood, who is recovering at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after being struck by a hit-and-run driver early March 28.

Flood’s leg was severed in the collision.

Wednesday’s benefit at Caffe Vita will also include a raffle, with many downtown Olympia businesses donating goods and services as prizes. Vintage clothing store Dumpster Values has donated a gift certificate, and other participating businesses include Psychic Sister, Hot Toddy, Onyx and Olyphant Art Supply. Raffle tickets are available now and cost $1. Last Word Books also has contributed, agreeing to donate 25 percent of its May 1 used book sales.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A representative from the Indianapolis Colts says owner Jim Irsay is the private donor who’s offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver who struck and killed an elderly Boone County woman as she walked home from church last November.

Police say Anita Wernsing, 78, of Fayette, was killed along State Road 267 near County Road 700 South.

“She was just a wonderful person and I would be blessed to be half the woman she was,” said her granddaughter, Mistie Linn. “You don’t leave anybody – a child or an older lady – on the side of the road like that to die.”

WESTMINSTER, Calif. (KABC) — A man suspected of fatally striking a pedestrian with a vehicle and leaving the scene of the crime was arrested last Friday at a bar in Westminster.

The hit-and-run suspect was identified as 45-year-old Derek Wright last Thursday.

And I quote (VIII)…

“You made a tragic decision to leave the scene. If you had called the police right then, maybe Mr. Judge would still be alive. Sometimes we have to pay for the mistakes we make. Today is that day.”
