3900. Minneapolis, Minn. July 2. 24-year-old woman riding a bicycle fatally struck by a which fled the scene. (Update: Arrest)
3901. Waco, Texas. Fourth of July. Man suffers life-threatening injuries when struck by a red 2000s model Pontiac Grand Am which fled the scene.
3902. New Orleans, La. July 5.
3903. Traverse City, Mich. July 5. 29-year-old woman on bicycle fatally struck by a dark-colored SUV or pickup truck which fled the scene.
3904. Meridian, Miss. Fourth of July. Man suffers serious injuries when struck by a Ford Explorer or similar vehicle which fled the scene.
3905. Yakima, Wash. Fourth of July. 20-year-old man suffers serious injuries when struck by a Hondq Accord which fled the scene and was later found abandoned.
3906. Odessa, Texas. July 5. 33-year-old man suffers serious injuries when struck by a beige 1999 GMC Yukon Denali which fled the scene.
3907-09. Wichita, Kan. July 5. A 50-year-old and horse were killed and 4-year-old boy injured when struck by a vehicle which fled the scene.
3910-11. San Antonio, Texas. July 6. 44-year-old man killed and 42-year-old woman injured when struck by a motorcycle which fled the scene. Arrest made later that day.
3912-13. Tahlequah, Okla. July 7. One boy killed and another injured when struck by a vehicle which fled the scene; driver later turned self in.
3914. Pueblo, Colo. July 6. 17-year-old girl injured when struck by a 1982 to 1995 dark color Chevy or GMC S-10 pickup truck which fled the scene.
3915. Springfield, Mo. July 7. Woman injured when struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
3916. Rockford, Ill. July 6. Unidentified man fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

New Orleans, La. – Investigators are looking for a driver who hit and killed a New Orleans police officer Sunday morning on the high rise. The reward for information in the case has been increased to $5,000.
Investigators said off-duty Officer Rodney Thomas, 52, was involved in an accident on the bridge at about 1 a.m. and had stepped out of his personal vehicle to check on the other driver when he was struck.
Thomas was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Investigators are looking for a white 2011 or 2012 Porsche Panamera that fled eastbound toward Slidell after striking the officer. It is not known if the car has local or out-of-state plates.

GARDENA (CBSLA.com) — The 22-year-old daughter of a veteran Los Angeles police sergeant has been released after being arrested in connection with the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist.
Vanessa Marie Yanez had been booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, perjury, filing a false report, and felony hit and run in the death of 60-year-old Jesse Dotson at Vermont Avenue and El Segundo on June 26, according to Gardena police Lieutenant Steve Prendergast.
Lt. Prendergast is part of Gardena’s Traffic Division, which has taking charge of the investigation.
Vanessa Yanez is the daughter of LAPD Sgt. Arturo Yanez, a veteran on the force of over 30 years. Even though the investigation is directed toward Vanessa Yanez, her father owns the vehicle involved in the fatal collision, and has been interviewed by detectives.

Police filed additional charges against a Niverville in connection with an April ATV accident in Kinderhook that sent a teenage girl in the hospital. in Kinderhook.
Police arrested 22-year-old Trevor Zolner on April 22 and charged him with driving while intoxicated after an ATV he was suspected of driving was involved in a hit-and-run accident that left a 16-year-old girl with a severely fractured right leg, kidney and liver injuries, multiple pelvic fractures and a concussion.
