An ongoing collection of unsolved hit-and-run cases, with a focus on car/pedestrian incidents, from across the country since Jan. ‘010. If you know something about any of these incidents, or one that I’ve missed, do the right thing and call the police, even anonymously.
It has been 20 days since a yet-identified Washington Twp. (NJ) police officer hit-and-ran 27-year-old Vance Banks of Sicklerville into a coma and no charges have been filed. This is a disgrace to the concepts of both protect-and-serve and justice itself.
1847. Louisville, Ky. Sept. 7. 26-year-old man on bicycle “got a broken jaw, fractured skull, a few other fractures. I’ll live, thank God” after being struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1848. Wendover, Utah. Sept. 4. 22-year-old man struck and killed by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.

1851. Wichita, Kan. Sept. 6. Man is found lying in the streets with tire tracks on his body after being struck by a car which fled the scene.
1852. Carlisle, Pa. Sept. 6. 13-year-old boy injured when a blue or green sedan struck the teen in the leg and his face then struck the hood of the car, before fleeing.
1853. Robbinsville, NJ. Sept. 6. 51-year-old man suffered multiple cuts and fractures when he was struck by a vehicle about which he couldn’t provide a description.
1854. Lakewood, Wash. Sept. 6. 44-year-old bicyclist injured when struck by a late 1990s or early 2000 red sedan which fled the scene.
1855. Whitewater Twp., Ohio. Sept. 7. 54-year-old man killed when struck by a vehicle that could be a black, 1990s or newer model Dodge Ram pickup, with blue and red pinstriping, which fled the scene.
1856. Chicago. Sept. 7. 6-year-old girl hospitalized after being struck by an unidentified vehicle which fled the scene.
1857. Miami. Sept. 7. Woman in her 50’s hit by a dark Honda which took off, leaving the unidentified woman laying in the street.

As part of a joint investigation with state and Oneida Indian Nation police departments, the search continues for the motorist involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident on the state Thruway near Verona, police said Monday.
An Oneida Nation shuttle-bus limousine leaving from the dance club at Turning Stone Resort Casino was westbound at about 2:30 a.m. when one of the 15 passengers, 29-year-old Brian Bauer, of Pittsburgh, fell out of the rear door of the bus and was struck by a passing motorist, who then left the scene, police said.

Troopers say Heather Borror crossed over the center yellow line and hit a horse and buggy, before also hitting a traffic sign. Then, troopers say Borror fled the scene.

On Monday, his 88th birthday, he worked the night shift. His family decorated his security guard booth with “happy birthday” banners. After his shift, Guzenski headed home. At 11:59 p.m., a motorist fleeing from police broadsided his car. Guzenski was taken to Bayfront Medical Center and is in critical condition. The driver of the car that hit him has yet to be caught, police reported.

HONOLULU — Micah Borengasser, 19, was a knight in shining armour, according to his family. Borengasser was critically injured in a hit-and-run in Kailua Saturday night. The man suspected of hitting him with a white Jeep Cherokee is still on the loose, police said.

A Long Beach Fire Department captain was convicted Tuesday of severely injuring a cyclist during an April Fools’ Day hit-and-run while driving with a blood-alcohol level three times the legal state limit.

A San Diego man is facing serious charges after crashing his car, and taking off on foot, leaving his injured wife and 9-month-old son in the wrecked car.

The daughter of a 66-year-old Flint man who police say was intentionally run down and killed on Saturday is glad a suspect is in jail, but can’t comprehend why her father was targeted.
“None of us are really sure what happened,” said Kimberly Baxter-Brown, 42, of Flint Township. “What we do know is it ended in a horrible tragedy.”

A high-speed chase down the Southeast Expressway to Route 3 this morning ended in a crash and a violent confrontation just off the highway in Rockland, where police shot and killed a suspect from a Roxbury incident.

ORLANDO — A 15-month-old boy was run over and dragged down a driveway in Pine Hills Tuesday evening. Troopers arrested 50-year-old Manuel Mendez, charging him with the hit-and-run.
